I can't remember got this done awhile ago. I think I kept it in there because there is still a perforated connecting the two mufflers. but I don't think it would make much of a difference on the straight piped muffler.

Great mod. Just wondering if there is an effect on performance from this?

I don't think so without downpipes, maybe +/- a couple HP

Do you have an x-pipe or resonator installed on the stock catback (I believe e92s are x-pipe no)? I'd love to do this on my E90 N54 but I was a little worried about a delta in back pressure between the two banks if your exhaust streams are not mixing prior. As such, I was considering going full PE mod but I'd rather do this instead.

An x-pipe would allow for such mixing which brings up a second question... since my E90 has a resonator, does the resonator mix the two streams or do they stay separate through the resonator?

I am not sure about that, sorry.

Any one do this with oem catted downpipes. fbo_335 You think this would sound okay with catted downpipes, or if sticking with cats better to go with the traditional PE mod(both mufflers)?

The left (driver side) muffler was cut open and perforated pipe was replaced w/ straight pipe. So when the OEM valve is open the exhaust goes out straight pipe and untouched factory muffler but when valve is closed the exhaust is redirected out of the right side muffler making it pretty quiet.

I bought the Exhaust Meister remote to control the valve.

Costed me about $150 + downpipe for the setup and sounds amazing and has valve control.
Hey is there other product to let you control the valve? Looks like Exhaust Meister is out of business or the website doesn't exist?

I'm about to remove my second cats and would like to straight pipe inside the box to it but afraid it's to loud in the morning.

Might have to plug my OEM valve back in. But would like to always have the valve open when I want.
