TPM in a 12/06 built 335i????

Okay, so Im trying to help my buddy get rid of his TPM malfunction. Im familar with coding and was gonna code out the error for him. But After seeing his build date, I dont know why his car has TPM, and not FTM. I have owned 5 E90s and all the ones built before 9/07 should have FTM, not TPM.

Anyone ever see this before?

What errors does he have? Are you sure it has TPMS? Look in the VO, is $2VB present?

If he had TPMS on a 2006 it must have been retrofitted.

ABS sensor based detection was on 2007 cars, does his ABS work correctly? if so did he try putting the correct wheels and tyre sizes then resetting the system on the dash?
(30 second drive in a straight line, going slowly on smooth flat road - not that there of any of these in the UK)

Haven't pulled the actual codes outta the module. He lives like an hour from me. I was trying to figure it out before going over there. Ill check the codes though and check the VO.

ABS is working fine and not throwing any codes.
