The only fake news is that BMW cheated at anything. No one can stop a money hungry lawyer from filing a lawsuit. The worst part is all the idiots that jumped on board expecting some sort of payout, lol.

Would you classify the VW emissions lawsuit invalid, a fake, a fraud?

You're kidding, right?

The BMW was the only diesel in the original West Virginia research study that did comply with the rules, which most of us clearheaded diesel-lovers find grossly unfair, including to the environment.

If anything, the lawsuit should be about how the emissions system is too sensitive and finicky parts costing a lot in repairs, lol.

Or how much emissions are created by manufacturing and replacing such emissions systems.

The VWs are hitting the road again. Imagine how many unnecessary trailers of cars had to be pulled by a diesel tractor to complete the buybacks.

I was lucky, VW paid me more than the car cost me and I drove it for 2 years/60kmiles. Did the lawsuit benefit the environment...doubt it

The question was about the VW's - was that case a fraud? BMW case hasn't been decided. There still needs to be evidence argued that something was done to trick or avoid emissions laws. I don't know of that evidence, but in the VW case it was clear with "smoking gun" internal emails that went all the way to senior management. So, again.... do you think VW didn't pull a 'fast one'?

Lawsuit for diesel BMW in US

Mercedes already settled for their diesel vehicles. I think they paid $3200 and also fix all the diesel related issues.
Next one will be BMW, which I think BMW eventually will settle.

What's there to settle when BMW hasn't broken any emissions laws?

Instead they should be sued for having such a horrible system with minimal coverage for repairs. I remember when I went in to do my active scr tank, they warned me about other issues. Had I been not wise to these cars, I might have believed them. lol

But then every company does this. Corporations have regulatory capture... like pharma has regulatory capture over the FDA and other safety groups.
