Lower boost with new FMIC
Hey guys, today I finaly finished installing my ETS 7" FMIC. Required a lot of triming and work but I manage to get it done on ramps . I am positive that all the couplers are firmly installed and gripped on the pipes.
I am runing MHD Stage 1 which sets a target boost of 14 PSI. When I logged before, with my stock FMIC, I could have a boost peak up to 19-21 PSI (might be abnormal). Now I did a quick log with my new FMIC and I only got up to 17 PSI. Is this normal considering the bigger lag from the pressure drop of the big 7" FMIC? I know that I am even above my target boost which is good, but I was wondering if such a big drop is normal. On the other hand, IAT are not budging at all, they are staying at 20-32 Celcius which is incredible. I was going up to 60 before! Thanks for the help! It's because the latest log is using v1.53 maps which targets about 12 psi boost. He made all of them more conservative due to abnormalities a lot of people were having. The old one is v1.51 which had boost spike (the reason it peaked 19 psi) and targeted about 14 psi. Easy fix here is to flash Stage 1+ as you now have a good FMIC anyway.

As someone else said, you were seeing boost spikes on the stock FMIC and that tune.
Boost is read pre-throttle body, if there is a small throttle closure it will inflate the reading of boost. Enjoy the ETS 7" FMIC! |

Yeah I am very satisfied with it. At the begining I wanted to trim as less plastic as possible but in the process I changed my mind because it was going to be so pain full to cut a bit and try to install it without a lift.
Anyways, very happy and now I am ready for bigger upgrades!

Pressure drop is normal. Assuming pressure target stays the same, the cooling down of the intake charge, will in fact, lower the pressure in the system. How much all depends on I/C volume, and how much of a temperature drop is happening.

Less restricted flow = more CFM = less Boost PSI but potential for more colder air and more power
