I did the mod and it didnt' really do much for me, probably because I already had my secondary cats and resonator removed. The change is very subtle and adds more drone on the freeway.

I like the mod for around town, but when I go on my road trip across the country next week I will be plugging it back in.

I just did this on my e93. This requires removal of the plastic taillight cover as well as the carpeted plastic piece on the side of the trunk. It's kind of a pain. What I did was pop out the 2 grey retainers near the top and bend the piece down to look inside. You will see the plug right there.... Kind of hard to get your hands in there.

I took it out for a spin, and noticed the tach bobbling a little bit after getting up to speed and releasing the gas, as the transmission upshifts to the highest gear. I have steptronic, obviously. I haven't read anything about this so maybe I'll give it a few days, maybe the ECU is used to dealing with backpressure and needs to relearn something.

E90 335 - Just did the mod

Just unplugged it and took it for a test drive - Quite honestly I didn't notice any difference and from what I think I noticed it sounded like rice. I'm going to leave it for now and give it another try but mostly like it's going to get plugged back.

Does this "mod" throw codes? Is it detrimental in any way to the exhausts backpressure?

Wrong. I just did it to my 2006 330i.
It has it too.
not sure i really noticed any difference at all though. . .
Seemed like nothing changed.
Does it take a while to kick in or should i notice it right away?
