512 earthquake - no supporters on this forum
I know there're quite a few Chinese members here and I have yet to see a topic about the earthquake.
Did a search and found a thread showing no sympathy....pretty sad If you don’t care that’s fine, but please don’t criticize the Chinese government and its people. If you do care...please show your support, donate your mod money

I'm not going to donate to assist when they refuse assistance.

its actually better for the chinese people if we don't help them. this will help destabilize the country more and put them closer to overthrowing the communist dictators who are oppressing them. in the long run, this will help the mainland chinese people achieve freedom and prosper like taiwan.

I'm not saying that I don't like supporting people in need.
BUT China has trillions of dollars in reserve, while our country is in debt. I think the Chinesse gov. can fix use some of that cash on getting the country back together. PLUS Is everywhere in New Orleans fixed? No. AND Did they donate to us?

Donated to both. People in need are people in need, regardless of the ruling governments, geographic locations, politics etc. etc. Its good ju-ju.

I am not chinese.
Went to the mall last week end and I saw some kids collecting moneyfor the Earth quake victims in China. Intially I didn't want to donate any money (Simply because I really don't like the way the chinese Goverment treat the people and the human rights). While I was waiting for my coffee at SB I was chatting with my GF and felt how narrow minded I am . It is not the fault of the chinese people and it is definitely not the fault of the people who are affected by the earth quake. So I ended up giving some money to the Kids. |

We had a company-wide donation drive couple weeks ago to the Earthquake victims. The US employees pledged $17,000 and the APAC employees pledged $12,000. The company matched another $20,000!

I believe there has been alot of progress made between the two countries. Esp. after the new president of Taiwan was elected. Also keep in mind that Taiwan does alot of business with mainland and vice versa. So in turn they do have more of a positive than negative symbiotic relationship.
