I ended up buying a 330 from Town and Country. got about 3.8% off MSRP. HIGHLY recommended. Could've gotten more if the car was on the lot, but it wasn't. Regardless, very happy with the experience.

purchased a 325 from Toronto BMW. Great facility, and great experience with our rep. We have maintained good relations with our rep over the years (followed him through various dealerships and brands) and will probably continue to do so over the years.

haha, funny same here, we (unexpectedly) followed our rep through two different brands as well, was surprised to see him at the BMW dealership, he remembered us too.

If you negotiate the best deal at Parkview but live in Newmarket....
What kind of service would you get if they didn't sell you the car?

I can provide a good story about service. I live in Oakville but purchased from BMW of Mississauga because they were willing to talk about price. The local dealer Budd's attitude was - this is the price - take it or leave it.

I wanted to change my oil (at my cost) after 10,000 km so I phoned Budd's service department and got a recorded message during regular business hours. I then phoned BMW of Mississauga and they told me they could change my oil while I waited but it would take one to one and a half hours, so I booked an appointment.

I took my car at the arranged time and they said it would take an hour. After 40 minutes my car still hadn't gone in the shop so I talked to the desk and it went in the shop shortly after that. The car was ready one hour fifteen minutes after I initially arrived, and I was probably looking impatient so the service rep smiled, told me there would be no charge for the oil change because it took longer than promised, and away I went. I left with a good feeling about the service department and the dealership.

I can remember waiting two hours in the past at a Toyota dealership for an oil change, and I was just another number.

they acutally don't mind that, as they make money from you when you bring the car in for maintenance or warranty work, the dealership bills BMW for the services that they provide.

ya canucklion said, your dealership will bill bmw for the service.

I had a similar situation because, I bought my old e46 @ Town and Country and I live in Windsor.

How much of a discount do you guys think I can get now, since the 07's are coming out real soon. I'm planning on getting the 325i and I'll be going to the Parkview dealership this weekend.

I'm in the same boat.

One question though, is there any technique to talk to the salesman? I mean do I have to bring all this info to him and tell him right way I want so and so percent off MSRP.

I'm in the Scarborough area, which dealership is good for me to go?

Parkview get's a vote of confidence from me too. Excellent reputation, low sales pressure, a bit off the beaten track (Leslie!) and asuperb selection of used cars to boot (they seem to advertise a lot in the Globe and Mail). As to negotiating tactics, it really depends on a lot of factors. For example, if price is your true determining factor, then don't get too personal with the sales reps as you'll have to shop around. Also be prepared not to get the exact car of your choice since cars on the lot are likely to go for better discounts. Right now, most dealers are trying to move the 06's (esp. the sedans) as the 07's have some compelling advantages. But you are unlikely to get as good a deal on the 07's now, especially the coupe's (the Canadian prices still aren't in....). Each garage only gets a few (3?) slots in the first availabilities so they are bound to find someone willing to pay a bit more initially.

But price shouldn't be the main factor anyway. These are expensive cars and you should be willing to pay a little more for what you really want rather than making do for the sake of $500 or so, which, over the lifetime of the car, is trivial. For some (like me) parting with $50K is not something I do very often and so I do want to feel good about it.

It does seem some people want to brag about the deal they got. Just remember, their deal would likely not suit you. It's all a compromise. But at the end of the day, you're driving a great car, so perspective is warranted.

I would have to tip my hat to BMW of Mississauga for after sales service. I cracked my windshield on the 407, so I decided to call around. I called Budd's since I live in Oakville. I was quoted over $1000, of which $400 was labor.He said the rain sensors would need to be changed because they usually get damaged when removing the glass, and they would need the car for 2 days. I then called BMW of Mississauga, and the agent quoted me about $650 plus tax, with about $200 for labor, and they would need the car for the day. It ended up costing about $637 (tax included) and they kept my car for about 5 hours. I must also add that neither dealers sold me my car.

OK, I went to Parkview today. I was expecting to get a 325i, but ended up getting a 330i with the Sports package. Great service, and I got $1300 discount.

Cool. The 330i drives much more powerfully than the 325i. So is this off the lot or a custom order?

I decided to go with a Jet Black 330i (along with SP) and aluminum trim. They checked the system and they had it in their inventory. I'll be picking up the car Saturday.

Took delivery of my '07 328i with Sport Pkg, other details: jet black on black leatherette, manual, sunroof.

Dealt with Jeff at Maranello, an excellent guy to deal with. I went in to the dealer and was introduced to Jeff by the receptionist. I knew exactly what I wanted and had set my bottomline. I told Jeff right away what deal he had to give me to make me sign the dotted line. The biggest complication in my case was trading in my '01 325i.

Long story short, the trade-in assessment came $2k short of the deal I asked for. Jeff reduced the price by $2k to meet my demand and I signed the deal.

Cannot exactly say how much of a discount I got but I think the deal was great. The trade-in value, after accounting for the tax benefit, was very close to what I had advertised my car for private sale.

Jeff was great from the beginning to after delivery. He personally came to my company to hand-deliver a cheque for the excess amount I paid. I strongly recommend Jeff, who is new at BMW (came from Lexus a few months ago).

I bought a used 2004 325IA from BMW Mississauga in May 07. The vehicle is under BMW's certified series program. Three weeks later I found out that the rear fender had been damaged and repaired and repainted. The dealer agrees that this was done, but refuses to accept any responsibility. These guys have behaved like scum of the earth. Stay away from them.
