Correct one brown wire and one brown with white stripe. You need to snip off the tank sensor then unwrap the bundle of wiring near the water tank filler nozzle. Trade out the brown wires and then splice to new wiring by to extend them before running the wiring across to the passenger side. Splice to the tank sensor and you are done

Basically we are waiting for parts to arrive, so we can make a down pipe and get on with the install.

We have ordered an N55 down pipe and some stainless elbows etc, that we will use to tack up a DP and send off to a fabricator to weld up. Also waiting on new turbo to arrive. Vince suggested a Borg Warner EFR 7670 with an internal waste gate to save space and so we don't need to stuff around with plumbing in the screamer pipe into the DP. Hopefully everything will arrive over the next week or so and we can get building

Pic for attention lol
Isn't the 7670 kind of small compared to the other turbos you had?
What power are you aiming for?

Smaller for sure but not by much.
Benefit in going down a size is that there is more room to fit it under the bonnet and it will be much more responsive with the turbo kicking in at lower revs. The big advantage and the key reason for the switch is the internal waste gate. No need for external plumbing and screamer pipe, which means more room for Dp heat sheilding etc. I'm told the borg warner is a top end turbo and the 7670 produces some decent power. If I can get 500+ hp I'll be happy

All that said seems like a common issue with ST builds is everyone wants to put in the biggest turbo they can to produce as much hp they can. Regardless of the lag, traction or heat management issues. I get that cause I feel the same. If you are going to the trouble and expense of an ST why go half measures. I feel like dropping down a size is also a bit of a cop out. But if you can push past that and think about it logically, do you really need 1000 hp? Make the car undrivable and have a turbo lag like a 1980s Supra lol. Not really. In hindsight I would love to fit a 6466 but the car will still be maxed out with the 7670 but with better response. Hard part is letting go of the concept that bigger is better

My mate back in Canada is heavy into racing, owns his own shop and has multiple drag cars running Borg Warner Turbo's.

He's been running them for years and swears by them.

Wow....I didn't read the whole thread but it seemed as many people thought the OP had a BW fake.

I would have hoped they sorted this out since that thread was from 5yrs ago

I reckon things would've changed by now. It's been 4 years surely the castings have been improved.

Good choice I think Socks, can't wait to see what it does... I like the approach of a smaller single. I guess twins just aren't reliable enough.

Of course

But solid reasoning and IWG should make exhaust plumbing heaps easier.
EFRs are supposed to be good, I think they use two of them in Indycars.

Yeh I saw this Coupes. The poor quality casting and stuff scream fake. Buying mine through sparesbox who have a full return policy

Yep three sets of twins in two years.. I'm over twins. Even if the ST smokes it will be much easier to swap out a replace lol . Ah the price of peace of mind

Im guessing the ST will go on stock unopened engine? These N54's must be built solid from factory to handle all that extra hp.

I have no such goal Kookie. Just want a reliable set up that won't smoke. Unless I'm smoking C64s or M3s lol

Yes on a stock motor. The stock N54 is good for 450kw. Drive train is another matter
