Andrew@DTUK - I'm looking for a little more power for my 163bhp 320D
Tuning boxes, basically you appear to be intercepting the fuel injection pulses and prolonging them by about 10% to deliver the extra fuel. What else are you doing with the two channel boxes, do you increase boost or do you vary the signal modification by taking in to account throttle position essentially making a 2D additional injection map? Seeing as the OBC MPG is calculated against the fuel map will this give a false displayed increase in MPG by fitting a tuning box as opposed to a remap? The fuel tank range seems to be calculated roughly from the MPG compared to the tank volume, will fitting a tuning box also incorrectly increase the displayed range? |

With the CRD-T were increasing the boost slightly as well as the fuel. As for OBC readings i would say that the fuel computer can sometimes be thrown out, but from my own experience and from feedback from customers i would say that 90% (at least) see genuine savings. A member of a Vectra forum i know would always state that the OBC would be innacurate with a box fitted, this was until he actually added a Green box to his Insignia and worked it out manually, i think with and without the box his OBC was about 5% out.. It was a case of him eating his words. So yes there is a very small chance of the obc being interfered with, but this is very small and the only way to test this is to manually calculate your fuel in both standard and tuned forms http://www.diesel-performance.co.uk/testimonials.php |

What sort of insurance increases are we talking about by adding one of these?
Am I asking for trouble by adding a tuning box to a car that has done 75k miles? Quote:
Thanks |

As long as the car has been, and is looked after then 75,000 miles isnt an issue. |

Has anyone any experience of a DTUK box on a late 09 320d coupe, 177bhp engine, if so what gains did you get and how did it affect fuel economy.
Thanks Steven |
