** A small update **
Well, i thought it well overdue to actually get a concrete power figure from the CRD-T
Here are the results : 340bhp 510 lbs/ft I've also driven my friends 335d SE E92 with a remap on it - comparatively, they are about the same in power, but, there is a marked difference in the way they drive The remapped version has crisper throttle response, and a slight sense of urgency about it My CRD-T feels like it has more torque, and when driving more spiritedly my car pulls harder at the higher mph's Notably the change from 5th to 6th was allot less laboured than the remapped one Pleased with the results, and the way the car performs Bang for buck these boxes are a good option, esp as if you change vehicle you can take it with you and have it tweaked to suit the new vehicle |

Hi Andrew
I have a 318d and have the CRD-T with the 4 selectable maps, i have the print off that comes with it but i cannot make sense of it. What i seek is for low end power, i want to BHP increase to be felt at low revs, whats the best map to select. In fact, can you let me know the difference between the 4 maps please?

I'd be interested to know what kind of difference you notice Gerry.
I also have a 318d although it is a much older less powerful version. I'm currently trying to decide between the CRD2 or a remap. The figures for the CRD2 are greater than the remap.

Hi
That's ms just altered my chip to 30% bhp and I've set it to Map No3. What a difference, it can really move now, normal until just over 3k revs then it just goes, would certainly recommend.

Hey Andrew
I'm currently running DPChip/Tunit on my 330d. What is the main difference between the CRD-T system compare to DPChip/Tunit?

Andrew,
I have an LCI 330d (245ps). Does your box leave fault codes in the control units of the car like say a Superchips Bluefin remap, i.e. engine ECU, auto box, abs, etc - or does the car not realise the box is there ? The reason I ask is I tried a Bluefin remap on a 177 320d and then checked with a Bosch Diagnostics machine we have at work ... and it showed a couple of error codes where the reflash had stopped communication with the various ECU's .... Does the engine realise some bits are being asked to do more and flag it up is what I am getting at ... |

I'm looking into either doing a re-map or getting a tuning box. I've looked at most of the boxes at the market and I am still wondering if any of the boxes do anything else than intercept the rail pressure sensor and simply increasing the pressure / sending in more fuel? How accurate will the onboard computer show the MPG?
I'm struggling to understand if there indeed is any difference between the various boxes out there. Maybe Andrew could give me a response? |

I have had a CRD-T fitted to my 09 320d (177) for a few months now and mpg has risen on the obc from 47-50 and when worked out it is actually doing 51.3mpg. The car is a lot smoother now and pulls very well. It is more noticeable in the higher gears, but its money well spent.

Thanks Andrew@DTUK for all your help. Had my CRD-T fitted late last week and have been fiddling with it all week. The performance increase is noticeable although on my DPF-less 320d LCI (177hp) I notice extra soot so I need to experiment with the different programs further.
But great customer service from Andrew! |

Thanks for the email. Regarding the unplugging of the unit for temporary return to standard, does the car just revert straight back to standard? And if and when I refit, should I go through the testing cycle again ie start with no map and then run up to full map? Also, how long should I run this cycle before i increase maps-days or just a quick 10 minute drive and then change to a more aggressive map? Cheers! |

Just a quick bump to say I received my CRD-T by Royal Mail Special Delivery this morning. Fitted in the driving rain because I just couldn't wait!
4 maps to choose from, map 1 ready for my early morning (and empty roads) trip to work in the morning. Can't wait to try all the possible combinations available! Customer service like I haven't seen for a long time - I had a good chat with Andrew before buying, and nothing is too much bother. If the box is as good as the service so far, I'm in for a fun drive! I'll do a proper write up once I've given it a good thrashing.. Erm.. I mean testing

First impressions are very good - I'll give it a few days then do a proper writeup rather than doing it in dribs and drabs.
