Hmmm ok. Yeah I didn't realize they were so high end until I had problems finding them today.

I am sorry xD I bought ALL the M1 0w-40 that i could get my hands on over the long weekend at the same walmart (picked up 8 jugs) if you really in need of some i can definitely give you two jugs, just pay me for it $30CAD or $27.50USD each (remember, WA have 10% tax =D)

They don't carry Liqui moly or motul since those are more premium brands. For those, i will just shop online for since i have always gotten the cheapest deals there. Have fun!

Hahaha, that's ok. Well done haha! I'll find it elsewhere!

Motul is very hard to find in a retail store in GVA. If you want it, you can order it through CG Motorsports or Performance One. Both are indy BMW service shops in Richmond. Motul X-cess 5W40 is LL-01 and should be about $10-12/litre.

Wow, really? At CG?

Mobil 1 5W30 is $14 a liter at C Tire regular price. I see they have the 4.4 L jug on sale from $50 to $32 right now.

I'd snap that up Bimmette!

If you're really hung up on getting the 0W40 blend, I'd personally just get it from C Tire (but it only comes in 1 liter size, not jug). I mean, saving a few bucks a liter on 8 liters, is it worth all the hassle to drive to Bellingham unless you're already going down for a bunch of other stuff? LOL...

Oh, on a related topic:

Why do so many people, especially in Vancouver, go for the 0W40 oil instead of the 5W30 that dealers put in and should be fine as per BMW?

I can get Motul 8100 5w40 for $47.50/5L or Liqui Moly 10W60 for $52.50/5L.

Yeah, both CG and Performance One use Motul as their default shop oil. They don't carry all the different types and weights in stock but they can bring in anything from Motul very quickly.

Because Mobil 1 0W40 is one of the easiest BMW LL-01 oils to find.

I get my oil and filter changes done at TS Auto Design. They are located in Richmond on No.5 road. They have reasonable prices for oil changes and also sell oil by itself if you need.

Oh yes, I forgot you go there! We talked about that! I actually contacted Frank yesterday to see if he could install my springs but he's pretty busy. Will probably go somewhere else.

Wonder how much they charge for Motul 300V xD I pay around $342.56USD shipped for 24 litres of 5w-40 (works out to be $14.27USD/liter - which is THE CHEAPEST i can find online.) If anyone is as nuts as i am into buying this "boutique" oil pm me for where i get the 300V xD but it is definitely overkill for most applications 24 liters is good for four changes so isnt that bad of a deal.

I have no clue. My race boy mentality is fading away, so when i go through all the motul's i have stocked up at home i'm switching to M1 0W-40. I think i like the M1 0w-40 due to the fact that i have read multiple great reviews at many different euro car forums (here on e90post, mini, merc, porsche, etc). Whether its that good or not i dont really care, i change my oil quite often anyways. However, the price factor is also a good incentive, $25USD/5 liters @ bellingham wallmart aint that bad (mind you i dont frequent the States, so i try to pick up as many as possible when i do go).

Thanks for the share.

I see their site says they do custom exhaust work. Do you think they'd be into doing the famous PE exhaust mod?

I went to Speed Syndicate, and they're very particular, and said it would take a whole day to do it properly so I'm checking out other places, as everyone says it should be a 3 hour job tops...

Thx. Are there no downsides to using a 0W40 blend at all? I can't recall if it's thicker or thinner than 5W30 for example.

As long as its LL-01 then you are good to go. The weights are a bit different depending on oil vendor (0W30, 5W30, 5W40, 0W40) but you can use any of them. Choose by your own preference, price or availability.

Yea, they can do everything. Swing by and tell them that I sent you see if they can hook you up! Let me know how it turns out.
