Best brand of run-flat tyres?

Hello guys,
I was wondering what the best brand of run-flat tyres is to fit on a BMW, in terms of comfort, low noise, and mileage.

There're no sizes for our M3s, so don't bother. I think only the front 18s are available. And nothing on 19s. But will watch this in case something new came up. Good luck.

When I got my 335i, the first thing I did was get rid of the run flat tires. They were harsh and noisey. Put a mobility kit in the trunk-good to go!

Why? Run-flats are a disaster, panned by every car review I have ever read. After driving a 335i with run flats, I would never go back there again.

You don't want run flats on a performance car. They are just bad news and you can't find them for an M3 anyway so not a big deal anyway.

Most of the corvette guys get rid of them ASAP. I think they call them run craps.

It doesn't exist...

Even the E90 335i that I drove in BMW Performance Driving School in South Carolina....they swapped the RFTs to Continental non-RFTs...

i.e. RFT is not for Performance cars...

I've driven on the stock ridgestone Potenza Run flats and presently I have the Michelin Pilot sport ZP runflats. The Michelins are the best.

i have always wonder this. would runflat provide the extra safety net? with regular tire, there is a chance it may blow up at high way speed if you run over nail, etc. with run flat, atleast you can still drive on it. anyone have any insight into this?

Runcraps provide little, perhaps no real safety advantages over regular tires if you have a blowout at highway speeds. The truth is that the risk from such an event is due to poor reaction by the driver. There are some excellent videos out there (primarily for rv or large vehicles) that explain what to do it a blow out, but the basic fact is that the mass of your car travelling at high speed is not inclined to quickly change directions by itself. This means don't panic. don't overreact. The type of tire has very little impact on the physics of the situation.

The perception of convenience and safety for the consumer. Lower manufacturing cost for BMW. Potentailly more dealer fees - I would bet most cars with runcraps get taken to the dealer for tire replacement.
