Someone please help with my professional radio!
Hi guys! Had a few bmws but this is my first e91! Haven't been on this forum before either got a few question for you guys about some faults on my car. One is my professional radio.. Its not idrive.. The Bluetooth is playing up the owner before me had his Bluetooth connected and it worked fine.. But when i press the phone button.. It shows up 2 lines above the phone then I can click on it and it says "connect bluetooth to make call" then quickly clicks off onto the radio again. I have disconnected my Bluetooth module but nothing happens.. Also.. There is a pause in music every few seconds on radio.. Its only a very quick pause but its very annoying! Any idea guys?
I can post up a video or pics when I get a chance. I don't know wether I need to delete paired phones with it already but I have no idea how to do that either? Any help Would be great!! Thank you Attached Images |

If you have the pro radio they all work like the video.
Not all cars have the bluetooth SOS modules installed. If you don't see the old time telephone symbol in the menu either you don't have bluetooth or it's broken. When you press the menu button no phone means no bluetooth or it's broken.(the girl points it out in the video it's at the begging of the list on the Menu) You must pair your phone with a code of your choosing that you put both inot the radio and the phone. Yeh I have the Bluetooth. Module and Bluetooth symbol but as the lady shows I have 2 lines above my telephone bit. There's another post on here somewhere where someone has the exact sameissue but it doesn't say what they did to fix it. Some people say take the fuse out and back in.. Not sure

There is a shop manual link and
the online tis link in this link https://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/at...9&d=1539905743 Although I don't know why you would think doing anything with fuses would help. |

Somewhat unrelated but I'm replacing my prof radio with a "new" one from eBay that I believe is from an LCI (no dead pixels). It also looks to have Sirius, too.
Do I just need to plug in the new one and default code it? I have BT, SOS, Logic7, etc. ctuna you seem to know quite a bit on these systems. Any advice? Thanks.

Almost a 95 percent chance you will have to program it.
Your lucky you have an 06 because you can Vo code it with a K/d Can cable. At least for the stuff that was present in the original system. Be sure your new Radio has a Most Bus connector on the back if you have Logic 7 some of the Euro ones don't. How it's going to work with a LCI Radio I am not sure. but http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=687463 https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1036190 Radio part no's included in the above thread the only reason I put it up. 65129350505 - includes internal 6NN & 6FL but adds MOST port for connection to other vehicle modules (existing ComBox, MULF, TCU, Sirius, HK/L7 amp etc.). There is some discussion of Sirus on a Head unit with sat integrated in the first thread pretty far in. Get rid of SOS its useless. There are Pixel repair kits and services . This problem goes back decades. Last edited by ctuna; 05-15-2020 at 12:14 AM.. |

Yep I've planned on reprogramming it, I'm hoping to find more info on the built in Sirius part (I'm fairly certain this came from a 2010-2011 E90, eBay listing was a bit vague so I might add it to the VO. My car has preparation for it so it should be fine.
I've been going through that thread and it's been helpful so far. Been trying to compare the one from the thread to the one I bought (65129243928). And SOS is useless lol I agree. As far as pixel repair kits/services, I found it cheaper to just 'upgrade' to an LCI HU and hope for the best. Worst comes worst I'll return it. I'm not sure what the MOST connector looks like (I'm very new at this) but here are pictures of the one I purchased (blue connector) and the one I believe to be in my car (black connector). I'm assuming the MOST connection is the small black connection on the bottom left?

The kind of white looking plastic connectors on the left under the fuse.
Looks like you got one.(on both radios) I would assume the extra purple fakara connector is for the satellite antenna. |

Oh, that's good then. Perfect. And that was my thought as well on the purple connector

I mentioned the part number in my previous post
Just to update, everything works perfectly. Was even able to code the new gongs which is nice. Considering getting an antenna extension cable and activating the built in Sirius in hopes that it has a lifetime subscription, or just pay the $5 a month

Romul1n if you pay shipping I'll let you have my old HU to tinker with. The display only works when it's cold but if you can get it to work maybe you can just switch the display from your HU.
Not sure why your radios acting up but you can at least try this for the bluetooth:

What sound system is your free head unit programmed for.
You have to have the ability to change that if it's not the same one. I would think that if there is a bluetooth problem it's more likly to be with the TCU/Mulf or combox or lack of one. |
