08 e92 335xi Suspension refresh kit

So I have a 2008 335xi with 170K miles, and it really needs the suspension redone.

I have been doing some reading on the forum and I really don't want to miss out on replacing something while I am in there. (So many parts)

Also I would like to reduce the front end bottoming out on potholes that is so common on these cars.

Not really looking to lower the car (maybe 1/2 to 1 inch) as my dad is currently driving it. But I would like to tighten up the driving a little.
So what options do I have as BMW never put the Sport Suspension in the XI (even though mine has the sport package)?

I am not adverse to spending money but don't want to go to overboard.

So I need shocks /maybe new springs and what else? Bushing? Sway bars?

Does one of the tuning or parts places have a good kit put together to replace it all?

Put your VIN in here: www.bmwfans.info and search for the Front Axle and search part numbers. Also helps to see a diagram of parts involved.

I did everything on the front end of my 330xi. I had 160k miles. It drives like a new car now. It sounded like my front end was gonna fall apart over bridge gaps,, but now its smooth over them. Bumps are smooth and the front end is stiff around corners. Highly recommend you change everything, to include the inner and outer tie rods. I did not change my springs.

Cary, I installed the Bilstein B12 Pro Kit about 30K miles ago and it's like magic suspension. Absorbs the bumps but also corners amazing. It drops the car just a little so I'm going to replace with coilovers, Bilstein B14 PSS to get rid of the wheel gap. I could sell the kit to you for cheap once I swap them out. As for all the other stuff (bushings, shock mounts, sway bars etc.) I'm trying to figure that out myself.

Also, ECS Tuning sells a coilover install kit with all the junk you should replace when you do the shocks. I'm trying to find a way to do it cheaper. The kit is about $320.

Did you go with all OEM replacements? My 330xi is at 155k and the suspension is SHOT so I'm about to do mine later this fall.

I saw ECS Tuning has a pretty all encompassing refresh kit for all 4 corners for $1,300. They say it's slightly upgraded over stock materials but I haven't done the research yet to see how their kit is different.

Any updates on what you've decided on?

I paid and indy mechanic to refresh the front suspension on my 328xi with 6-Piece Control Arm Kit (E90 E91 E92) from FCP Euro. It tightened everything up and ended a right turn knock. Also recommend a Shock Mounting Kit, they're about $90/100.

Through all the money and time I've spend reading about this that new OEM is very good, and that you should replace all the old, rotted, beat to hell rubber that's involved in your suspension if you haven't already.
