FCP Euro.......Lifetime warranty on everything? Really?

So I'm getting ready to start ordering some parts for my 335i project car. One of the websites I've heard mentioned a lot is FCP Euro. Their prices look pretty good (maybe a little higher than other places), and apparently they will give every part they sell a lifetime warranty.

How does this work? So if I bought a set of coils and plugs from them.....if one craps out, I just send it back and get a new one? What about plugs.....will they give me a new set after 30,000 miles?

Seems too good to be true......just trying to get some more info so see how their warranty process works.

Thanks!

OP, the best thing to do is contact them directly. i believe you have to order new parts and send old one back and get refund.

As MEN54 mentioned, you would need to buy the replacement part first and then submit a warranty claim. You can find the exact details about the process on the FCP website: https://www.fcpeuro.com/page/lifetime-guarantee

I've done this with oil, filter and oil additives in the past. Many forum members here have done the same.

You order new parts. Install them on your car. Then return your old parts and they refund you the cost of the parts on the original order you had.

Yes they take back old oil and filters and send you new one.

You guys are luck to have this deal in US. In Canada not so much.

Just to clarify so there is no confusion, you have to buy the replacements first and then mail back the items you are returning. The net effect is still the same, but worth pointing out for anyone looking to do this in the future.

How much does it cost to ship back 7 quarts of used oil? I'm assuming you have to ship it UPS....and put it in a special container?

When it's all said and done......is it worth the trouble??

Thanks for the info. I'm assuming their slightly higher prices is how they end up paying for the stuff they warranty out?

It costs me about $15 to ship back 7qts and filter. Just reuse everything they send you and relabel the box, be sure to put everything in a plastic bag so it doesn't leak.

Its absolutely worth the trouble IMO.

I believe the oil must be in the original containers when shipping it back.

$15 to ship the oil back, new oil only costs $25 - seems like a big hassle to me to save $10. I'd rather just stick it on the curb and have the recycling company take it away.

I can see it on expensive stuff though.

Shipping cost will depend on how far you are from their distribution center located in CT. For reference, it cost me just under $25 to ship back 7 quarts of oil and an oil filter last time around using USPS from MD. I'm going to try UPS or Fedex next time to see if they rates are cheaper.

As far as packaging, just make sure to reuse the box and packaging that they shipped the parts to you.

Where the hell does oil cost you 25$ lol? The filter alone is ~ 10$.

Just a 5 quart jug of Castrol 0w40 is $22 plus tax, plus fuel to drive to walmart, plus dealing with people at walmart.

Amazon does have some good deals occasionally though.

walmart or any number of stores. Maybe it's $27, but whatever - I'm not spending an hour of my time packing up a box with old oil and standing in line at the post office to save $12. The recycling truck will take it away for free.

I bought a case of filters from a buddy who runs an online BMW parts store, they were way less than $10 each. And I only need to change my oil once a year, it's not a big enough expense to worry about.

haha for our other cars I get Mobil 1 @ $22.xx no tax in DE. Then I upload the receipt for a rebate online $12x4=$48. They even email the rebate check.

Not a big deal and the oil is barely over $10 for a 5 qt jug, add a WIX XP filter and I'm done for < $20 per oil change. I am tempted to use it in my 335i but I stick with LL-01 oil.

Yep. I've mailed them back oil, oil filters, MoS2, a snapped in half tie rod end, and brake sensor wires that were missing the spring clip or were broken. I've gotten a full refund every time. Shipping oil cost me like $13.77.

anyone get new brake rotors? Even those aren't that expensive. I got OE from FCP but it's going to be a long time before they're needing to be replaced. Where it would be dicey is say you got a DSC Hydro (then again why would you when it can be repaired). That part is likely $3k

I haven't used them for oil yet, but I can imagine my shipping will be fairly cheap since I'm located in the same state.

There is a post office 100 feet away from where I work, and lately WalMart hasn't had any Castrol 0w40 or Mobil 1 0w40 in stock. The shelf space for Euro oils has been empty, not sure what is up with that. Went there last night since my sister's VW Jetta needs a change and there was nothing to be found. Advance Auto had it but it was like $60 for a 5 quart jug, no thanks! Ended up getting the Liqui-Moly 5w40 kit from FCP.

How does this work for oil burners such as mine? I consume nearly 3 quarts of oil over a 5000 mile oil change interval, so I will only have 7 quarts of old oil to return to them. I could always call them but figured I'd ask here.

The latest Castrol 0w40 (made in Belgium) at WalMart doesn't carry the LL01 certification any more. Not that it matters much since it's likely the same forumula and there's speculation that Castrol didn't bother to pay BMW for it since BMW switched their affiliation to Shell.

I'm looking to try one of these fancy German oils (~$10 more per 5qt jug than WalMart) and I'm curious about the FCP Euro warranty when I can't return the total amount of oil I purchase due to consumption.
