For sale is a e93 m3 rear sway bar(23.6mm) and powerflex black bushings for them and I can confirm they fit...

So I'm an idiot and ordered the wrong sway bar and bushings. I figured that the e93 M3 rear sway bar could work on my e90 sedan and was wrong. Turns out, when I was raising the subframe, the angle is slightly different on the ends of the sway bar and they hit the control arms. So i'm assuming the e93 M3 rear sway bar only works for other 3 series convertibles

I tried installing it in May and haven't gotten around to trying to sell it til now. There's some scrapes and chips in the paint of the sway bar from the install, and there's some lube on the bushings from the install. But everything is unused and so beyond the wear from bumping into things while installing it, these are new.

Bushings come with some unopened packets of powerflex silicone lube.

Images of bushings, sway bar, and receipts found here:

Sold together for $160 shipped. Will knock off $30 if you pickup.

EDIT: sold at much lower because I came to the conclusion it's probably not the right sway bar, but the bushings are still correct. Someone risked it to try.

I didn't really since I was pretty frustrated with the whole thing and didn't really think about it. I made a thread asking about it in the xdrive subforum. But it bumps into the front upper control arm and is off by like an inch.

That is very weird. People have installed m3 sway bars with success

Yes, that doesn't sound right. The E90/E92 M3 bar is the same piece and the E93 is only a mm thicker and I know they've been installed in non M E90/E92's.

That is correct the m3 sway bars from the e90/e92 fit as I currently have an e90/e92 m3 rear sway bar installed in my 335.

Are you absolutely sure about that? Being an xdrive doesn't make a difference since the rears are the same so that's not it. And when I had both sway bars on the ground next to each other, the bend on two of the angles is slightly different, but they lead to the same end link mounting "spot".

Also I installed the swaybar while the subframe was almost off and only held up only by a jack and stands while attached to the lower rear control arms (still a tight fit since I didn't want to disconnect brake lines). I then attached the sway bar to the same mounting holes I have the current e92 m3 sway bar attached to. I then lined it up and raised it to where the end links are supposed to go and everything was dandy. Then finally I tried installing the upper front control arms and those controls arms would hit the sway bar for me, which did not happen when i switched to the other bar.

Either way I'm not gonna mislead people and say that it goes in perfectly since I couldn't get it to fit in my e90xdrive and if someone else wants to experiment then they can feel free cause this is a pretty good deal lol.

Here's a link to a guy that installed it in his non M E93, which like you said, is the same set up in the rear as all E9x's, Xdrive or not.

I don't know what happened with yours. I don't doubt that you couldn't get it to fit. And it is a good deal, do I just want to drop the subframe again though...hmmm

The point being that a non M rear subframe/suspension is exactly the same between a E90, E92, and E93 except for spring rates and shock valving. If it fits a E93, it fits the others.

So a few things:

- I don't mean disrespect, but do you have a source that they're all exactly the same? Or where are the few differences, if any, in the subframe geometry? I'm a little bit curious since I didn't get it to work, I didn't find mention of this fact in that e93 install diy guide, and in the end I don't feel like trying to match sku numbers on subframes and control arms haha.

- As a side note and for example I do know the stock e93 rear sway bar is different from the stock e90/92 sway bar minimally by the thickness, so there is potentially more differences between the 2 sway bars and the subframe geometry's, just looking at it from a stock setup perspective being aware that they did it on purpose due to the extra weight from being a convertible.

- Just for clarification purposes, I meant earlier that e90/92 vs e90/92 xdrive have the same rear subframes not that all non-m e9x's have the same rear subframe.

- And if you decide to buy or if someone else decides to buy, I just want our research to be on the same page cause I don't want to screw you over haha.

No disrespect taken. All end links are the same across the platform, M and non M. All non M use the same P/N subframe and suspension arms. M subframes are different material and have some different mount holes (rear diff mount) but the geometry and attachment points are the same. M rear arms have the same geometry, they're just aluminum and have better bushings. And here's a good one for you, the E90 335xi and non M E93 335i with sport suspension use the same exact rear sway bar (15mm), bushings, mounts, etc. The sway bar you took off is a E93 sway bar. All this is verifiable on realOEM.

Interesting. I guess if that's the case then technically speaking, this should work as you said. So I guess anyone who looks at this, theory and part numbers says this sway bar should work on e90/92's. I might just be dumb and can't fit things right. Sorry for other people searching this subforum for stuff to buy and the endless bumps.
