My JB is a daily driver and i wash it every week.
As long as you wash it carefully the swirls arent that bad (dont wash in circular motion).

Love the JB though

Mercedes doesn't offer enough performance for my taste until you get over the $70,000 range. I wouldn't buy an entry level MB, but I might buy an entry level Bimmer if I were buying cars in that price range. I see these guys on the freeway with a C230 Kompressor and find myself trying to figure out what they paid for.

JB 668 is the best paint option. I love it, very much an enthusiast color that dosen't scream for attention but demands respect when it is prefectly clean. It is alot more work than I originally thought especially when trying to avoid swirls.
Unfortunatly BMW decided to throw some metallic in because now they use softer paint which is better for the enviornment. The Jet black on the e46 was purer. If you look very closely, ull notice small metallic dots scattered throughout the paint. (you can tell I spend alot of time detailing the car)

and btw i wish they had Jerez black (m3) as an option for the reg sedan- awesome color

the badge.... MB is very very valued in certain cultures tho.. i can speak of middle eastern (both arabic and persian cultures) they value that shit so much. i seriously have persian friends that'd rather get a 1975 MB over a new anything else.. just to say "i drrrrive a beeeeeeeeeeeenz"

Mercedes is okay, but just not sporty enough for me. No offense to anyone who owns one.

Both my Bimmers are jet black, the E36 is in embarassaing shape, the E90 is holding up pretty well going into its 7th month of my ownership but I don't do anything special to it, just wash every other week by hand.

You've still got to keep on top of it but, the metallic hides the swirls so much better than straight black. Jet black is my one and only regret on this car.

We are on water restrictions here so, if I'm going to wash the car I have to go to the car wash/ swirl installation machine. It pretty much kills the paint. After going through the whole swirl remover process two or three times since restrictions I've just decided I'm going to have to live with swirls for a while. I'm hoping we'll off the restrictions soon and then I'll put the time in to get the swirls out.
I cant imagine how my jetblack would look like if I took it to a swirl o matic, I would definately recommend Optimum No Rinse wash for when you're under water restriction, all you need is a bucket of water, its pretty much the only way I wash cars now except when they're really dirty I'll rinse them with the powerwasher before hand.

My neighbors are water Nazi's. I'm pretty sure they'd report me for even a bucket.

It seriously requires about half the maintenance of the GD JB.

I have JB E92 and currently have a loaner SB. I must say I do not like SB at all. It looks grey sometimes and does not pop at all.

I just finished detailing my JB yesterday, the little metallic specs in the paint were drivin my crazy as I thought it was polish dust. This paint is a real pain in the ass, even the softest microfiber can swirl it with a little too much pressure.

I liked the Grey - it was my wife that wanted the black thing.
Well - the only thing she had to decide
to day i am happy about it. I live in the real dirty winther/snow/rain/dirty Denmark. Its not so bad with he black color. And some days i have my kick - its gray - haha
Just se to that you have it waxed often - then it will last much much longer.

Seeing as your M5 and 997TT are fakes, I don't think any Benz owners will be offended. I doubt you'd be able to buy one.
