Metallic noise coming from front when wheel is turned left 270 degrees (with audio)
Hi guys
I've got a strange one. Yesterday I noticed that when my 2011 E90 335i was cold when I turned the steering wheel left 3/4 of a turn, I'd hear a small metallic whining noise. It sounds like metal on metal soft grinding. Could it possibly be the driveshaft? Depending on how a failing driveshaft or u-joint sounds, that's what I might have... Some details about the car: no mods except the PPK tune, 88K miles, just had brakes and ATF (pan, fluid, mechatronic seal) done. Here's a YT video link to the sound. I'm leaving a parking garage where I constantly am turning left to go around it. You'll really hear it around the 45 second mark and again around the 1 minute mark. Any help would be appreciated! |

suspect wheel bearing.
when the weight transfers to one side they tend to make noise on the way out. Since it happens whe you turn left, suspect right side. |
