One thing i found with with tire shine is that, if you have small tires, you dont even get to see them shine!. I put some shine in my tires and they looked nice, but not super noticable. Then i put it in my buddy's '00 TL and damn, the stuff was shiny! Small tires i guess are just not ment to shine 225/35/19 and 265/30/19

What do you guys think of Gold Class Endurance High Gloss tire shine from Meguiar?
I love the stuff. Nice semi gloss, no sling and lasts at least a couple of weeks easy. Others I like include Vroom (Target, nice smell too) and Michelin.

On top of the fact that your buddys TL has All-Season tires (Differents type of rubber, hardness, ect.) He probably, as you stated, has a bigger sidewall which has more surface for the dressing to coat. More surface equals more light reflecting off of it, therefor more shine. Pretty obvious, i know.

Also, not all tires are created equal. Michellin performance tires "absorb" more dressing while Bridgestone performance tires tend to let the dressing sit on top.

In the end, what works for someone may not work for you.

Why do you say the applicator thing sucks? Are you talking about the one that looks like a stick of deorderant? If so, I think it's great. Works well, it's compact and portable. Oh, and it even gets the compressed sidewall part that is nearest to the ground.

Anyone ever used this: http://www.meguiars.com/?tire-care/Hot-Shine-Tire-Foam

It's a white foam that you spray on and in about 5-10 minutes it dissolves onto the tire. I'm curious to know how people compare this to Black Magic, which everyone seems to love.

Another vote for the Zaino stuff. I hate the really shiny tire shine stuff, so the Zaino with it's mostly matte finish is perfect.

Meguiars Hyper Dressing. You dillute it from 1:1 to 4:1 depending on your taste. Spreads forever, and although being waterbased, it last a good while.

I used to manage the prep dept. at a honda dealer years ago...we used a product called Magic Dressing from the AUTO MAGIC company out of Texas(do a search on the web i'm sure you can find it).. the stuff is blue and has a nice smell to it..right now i use something like it that i buy from a local car wash..its the same stuff they use at the wash. they sell it in bottles. i just put some on a sponge and wipe it on...http://www.automagic.biz/default.htm

Guys, using these silicone or was it petroleum based products cause the tire to look duller once the product wears out...if you get a waterbased product, you might not get the shiniest finished product but your tire will stay looking like you just put it on... just a thought, i dont practice what i preach either.
