OEM Headunit upgrade

I have a 06 330i with Logic 7, Bluetooth calls, BMW assist and the professional head unit installed from factory. I only listen to apple music on my phone using a $30 Bluetooth to aux dongle. The audio quality on that sucks and I would like to retro fit another factory head unit with Bluetooth audio, USB, aux and the new gong sounds. Is this possible?

For $500 I can get a Apple car play head unit. Would one play nice with the car?

Edit: it would be 1k to install a aftermarket head unit into my e90. At that price I would buy a wrecked car and do a I drive retrofit.

Does anyone make a CD quality Bluetooth adaptor for the aux port? I have a $30 one that sounds bad now.

you need newer professional headunit with USB AND tune2air usb/bluetooth streaming converter or you may buy another bmw bluetooth module (MULF2HIGH) with usb input and also use tune2air with it
there is big bluetooth streaming topic here

If you already have BMW Nav you are stuck do to the idrive
and the Hump in the center console.
I guess you could put something in if you don't mind loosing the
idrive and having a dead screen where the OEM Nav is plus
the side effects.

If you have pro radio you need a Logic 7 adapter to run the
stock L7 amplifier with aftermarket head units. (I guess I didn't see the bit about pro radio ) Avin makes a logic 7 adapter if you want to keep the L7 amp.

I don't have navi. I was saying by the time I get all of the adapters and junk to do a aftermarket headhunt install I could go and buy a wrecked car with navi and swap it into my car.

If you do that be sure and get it from a car with the newer Navi.

You would need a combox for a2dp
or a NBT .

I found out what to do. I need to buy a Blue connector LCI Euro pro radio and just buy the USB port and cable.

this headunit do not do bluetooth audio, you'll need tune2air
and also you'll need to rewire mic from trunk to dashboard

it has USB audio so I can change songs with the steering wheel which is the important bit.

If you have the 30-pin ipod connector, you can use this:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The audio quality is pretty good, but you do lose the steering wheel controls. I used to connect my ipod nano to the ipod connector, but I recently started using apple music and discovered that I can't download apple music songs onto an ipod and this seemed like the easiest fix. I do miss the steering wheel controls though.

The audio quality out of my stock professional head unit is garbage. I am hoping the quality of the audio out of the USB port I am retrofitting is as good as the CD audio quality.

If anyone has a usb + aux port with cable they want to sell me for a reasonable price hit me up.

The aux is a known low fi input .
But if you have the Hi Fi or Base system that is a bigger
problem if you want sound quality . The Pro Head unit
though basic is a good source for and audio signal if you
put in a good amp and speaker combo.
