Anyone painted their stock E90 rims?

Hi,
I am thinking about painting my E90 rims in glossy black. Somebody done this before?

It shouldn't be hard - there are lots of tutorials on YouTube regarding how to do it. ChrisFix has a good one.

In order for it to really turn out in a quality finish, you need to use 2K Clear. Just be careful spraying it because without a respirator it will harden in your lungs.

Another option is Plasti-Dip.

I thought about it, but the black rim look is over done, especially among the ricer crowd. It is looking more ghetto and cheap everyday.

This is certainly doable however, I would advise against it just because it looks a bit tacky IMO. But whatever floats your boat!

I recently did it to the stock wheels on my e70 x5, which are now the winter wheels. Used VHT brand products (VHT SP305 primer, VHT SP187 gloss black, and VHT SP184 clearcoat, 2-3 coats of each). Spent a long time cleaning, scrubbing, and scuffing beforehand, and I think it came out pretty well!

The wheels were scuffed, curb-rashed, and generally in fair-to-poor cosmetic shape, so I didn't have much to lose. Watch out for runs!
