Ambient Thermal Management FMIC

Just letting people know about these intercoolers. (Previously sold by Helix)

I was addicted to reading logs and trying to find the best intercooler for the hot humid conditions where I live. I found that helix was one of the best performing intercoolers especially for IAT control.

I know there are marginal differences in the top few companies and you can just use meth, but the stepped core IAT performance is what makes it the best for the temperature where I live.

All logs I have seen on the three forums came up with helix being one of the best for IAT and pressure drop.

Ambient Thermal Dynamics made the helix intercooler and have just started a group buy for them.

As soon as I seen the thread and realised it is the same people that made helix I put a deposit straight down.

If you want a very good intercooler at a reasonable price check out this thread

So the stepped intercooler pokes up in front of the bottom part of the radiator?

I got the VRSF 7" intercooler and I'm a bit disappointed that there is a gap between the bottom of the radiator and the intercooler. It seems like the airflow would be really inefficient.

Does the stepped intercooler cover the entire vent area (top to bottom) on a 3 series bumper?

I have seen VRSF has a rise of 20+F over a 3rd gear pull on reasonable ambient temps, any of the 6 and 7 inch intercoolers need to be set a little higher, my godspeed 6 inch only has a few charge rows above the front lip catching wind

The best rectangle 6 or 7 inch intercooler logs I have seen is from Ets 7 inch.

I dont think I have read any logs or comparisons on the ER

It would be close to covering the space its atleast 100mm higher maybe 150 then the any of the rectangular intercoolers

GB link ^

The GB lowers the price a good amount against the msrp of $800. If we get 15+, the price will be high 600's. I say hop on the GB with us bro.
