Did I damage the radio plug? Radio doesn't work anymore
I was trying to install an aftermarket Android head unit and the adapter that was provided to go on the OEM radio plug was extremely snug. When I had everything plugged in I tried to turn on the new head unit. It didn't turn on and I wanted to test out to make sure it wasn't anything wrong with the wiring.
I had to pull really hard to separate the adapter and radio plug. Afterwards when I plugged in the BMW Professional Radio, it won't turn on anymore. Is it possible to damage the radio plug by pulling really hard on it? I had the latch to unlock when I was pulling apart the adapter and plug. I'm referring to #5 on the diagram below: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=65_1474 |

Did you throw the lever 90 degrees before pulling it apart .
It pretty much ejects itself when you throw the lever. Can't say what aftermarket adapters do but it should be pretty much the same if the adapters use the right connector. |

It was at 90 degrees when I tried to pull the harness out. None of the wires from the harness look damaged. However, old radio doesn't work anymore when I plug it into the harness. I'm confused as to what could have happened between the time I removed the old radio and installed adapter?

Blew a fuse maybe ?
Or bent a pin or maybe pushed it out. Check the radio fuse at the fuse board . There is also a fuse on the back of the stock radio. I have learned to to gorilla things( by breaking quite a few things) |

I check the fuse box in the radio and in the car, both look alright.
I saw a red flashing from one of the ports of the radio harness. it was from the thick black wire and that port. I'm thinking that this means that the harness still has power? Is there anything else that can be done? |

All the light means is the most bus is still workiing on one
of the most modules connected to the radio. Measure the power at the radio connector and visually inspect the pins. Also are you sure you have a battery that is putting out more than 12.4 volts as a weak battery can turn off the Radio through the IBS system. |
