Alternator installed. Was mostly easy, the connector was broken so I had to pick at it for a good five minutes. New one came with a pigtail so I just spliced that in. Also had a spare new-in-box pulley so I swapped that too. Good to go! Time for a wash

Went from blue to white halos, per the trooper that pulled me over a few days ago, lol. Loved my blue, but they're illegal apparently. Ran them for about 3 years no issues. Oh well, he was cool, not even a fix it ticket and left with a "nice car you got there" so yeah, white they are...

Oil change performed! BMW says that the car checks out, no issues found, which is a bit of an ego boost, honestly. No oil leaks! Though I am eyeing the Uro parts VC the idiot PO put on my car with some suspicion…

Yeah, I miss the f31d because of it. Atlas has it, along with heated rears, my f31 d had both of them too.

If I ever have my msport re-covered, I’m going to get a cheap beat to shhhh sport wheel to cannabalize the element and control unit from.

I did a thing whilst my son was here who has younger eyes for the de & re-pinning.
Should have been a 1 hour thing, 3 tops. Took a lot longer then that as my win xp coding computer wouldn’t connect ot Cmedia for me to reset it, until I remembered some hours later I have a win10 for esys and such that I put NCSexpert and such on for shiggles. Then it only took about 10 minutes more to code the combox for a2dp etc. and recoding the other modules that I had to reset back with my preferences. Once I had that a2dp working I did lose my front aux, and getting the phone book contacts to work was the biggest PITA but eventuallly I found where the night active setting was in Cmedia amd got it all working.

My car is 06 wagon with TCU only. CIC retrofit, now combox.
That other module above is the factory external SDARS, aka Sirius.

I have not connected external USB and wired for combox aux yet, amd I didn’t need any adapter wiring or extensions, jsut repin and shave fin on the white BT connection, amd relocate them from going around topography module and down right edge on the fakras, to going down middle/left to give me the length required.
Another tip is use the wrench from the tool kit to keep the floor flap open and out of the way. lol.

Telematics doesn’t exist anymore. So no need for anything fakra except the BT and/or the USB if you are going to use it or wiring aux back to rear combox if you are going to use it.

No need to VO code anything telematics either. 644 6vc amd 6nr is all I coded , plus +TELD to get rid of the SOS error.

I used to wrap a few strands of Christmas lights around my wife's car every December (just taped them on and checked them every evening) and plugged in an inverter until she was pulled over and told to take them off. I never understood that.

I used to do that too. Battery operated ones on a timer worked great

Thanks for the suggestion... I still have PTSD from when she wired a rudolf nose onto the front of her car and the wind blew it around enough to scratch the hood.

What could possibly go wrong with stringing some lights up in front of the car!?!?!?

mmm interesting. What guide did you use to enable a2dp?

I was looking for this, but BMW call it ''Enhanced Bluetooth'' or '' bmw bluetooth audio''

https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1474066

wondering if mine is compatible, I have a 2009 CIC with nav/satellite

Got into it in ncs expert and turned the feature on.

I was originally CCC (609) with TCU (639) and Voice Control (620) and external SDARS (655) and L7 (677)

Now I’m CiC with voice control external SDARs L7 and combox.

Unless someone did a retrofit, 09 you should be CiC with possibly TCU (BT calling only) or TCU +Mulf (usb iPod connectivity) in an 09.

Iirc in America it was 03/11 that combox was first available.
as that is the date you have to add to your VO amd delete the real one temporarily when you access CIC or combox via ncs expert to get the right options on preFL.

So yes you’d have to retrofit a combox and then change your VO coding, then go into ncs expert and set the features or default code CIC and Cmedia units, plus Kombi for +TELD to get rid of the SoS error. If your Daten are up to date and you are familiar with coding with ncs expert+ncs dummy it is not a huge deal.

For wiring I followed a chart on spool street forum. Took a screen shot and jsut worked moving one pin at a time from TCU connector to Combox connector down the chart. Left over pins stayed in the TCU connector.
It was nicely laid out, clear, and had mulf only TCU only or mulf with TCU charts. Most places didn’t show TCU only.
Note, Can lines do not need to be added, since telematics is defunct and you would these days be coding it as a combox media only, no mater what type it really is. It’s coded over the most ring just fine.

By getting combox with cut harness I got the connector I needed that points the right way, unlike the blue one most charts list to buy that points the wrong way. It was only like $65-75 for a bn2000 combox on eBay.

Edit, yes those were the things I had to turn on in the combox I think it was database one that finally got my phone book to work.

Half way through of swapping boring headliner on the E90 with black one. The damn T50 bolt covers on the seats are one messed up design.
Spent more than 30 minutes trying to get them removed. Then the battery died on me and got cold and dark outside. Will try to continue today.

New indahield from BMW installed yesterday. Only enough the precious windshield had a green tint at the top this one has a gray tint. Dealer says this is the windshield specific to the car with no options. I enjoy it more as it does help more with the sun compared to the green tint.

Pulled the front wheels, retorqued the endlink bolts (slightly loose) and pinch bolts to get rid of the clunk. I also installed the eBay under tray which is thinner and doesn't fit great then I did an oil change.
