MP3 capabilities for Nav Oct 2005 prod?

Yeap, cars with Navi Pro purchased in Europe in September obviously do not play MP3 CDs (not even from the CD changer). Have to wait for the next big software update ...

My 330i SE was a week 36 production car. I collected it a week ago. Unfortunately, no mp3 playability on the in-dash CD, DVD or CD multichanger.

Mitch1138 has a Sept production car with Idrive and says he can play MP3s in his dash CD and DVD players. See this thread:

My car came on 23rd September with bluetooth/prof. Sat Nav/ CD/ 6 pack CD. I suspect it was european August production (made in Germany) and plays MP3s in the dash mounted CD. Will try in the boot mounted 6 pack and let you know the results.

I have order my 330d e90 which will be delivery beginning of december. It would be produced on november. My dealer told me that e90 with nav produced after october 10th will be mp3 capable

I just picked up a E90 325i yesterday with Prof Nav and 6 CD changer. It wont recognise a non audio (MP3) CD in any of the CD drives eitehr with or without the DVD

How to tell software version and date of manufacture ?
