Wastegate rattle FIX using a spring

Ever since I installed my DPs I noticed a very bad wastegate rattle, used my JB4 to adjust position, which helped temporary. Then I did the whole washer and adjustment mod, rattle went away for about 5k miles. Today I gave the spring method a try as described in these threads, rattle is gone.

Long term I'll be replacing both turbos, but since I don't drive my car very much I don't mind these short term solutions. Question is has anyone done the spring method and how long did it last before rattle came back? Anything to worry about besides it being ghetto?

I just went ahead and adjusted my waste gate actuator arms to get rid of the rattle.....but if you want to try the spring method, give it a try. It's not going to hurt anything. I would use a pretty light spring...something that will still get rid of the rattle, but not keep the waste gates from actuating fast.

I have had a spring on my rear turbo for 4k miles since my adjustment nut stripped and it seems to help a bit. No issues. Would like to know if anyone has tried doing something similar for the front turbo or if just doing the washer method is best.

So far its working, I also ordered some of those VW Wastegate Actuator Rod Rattle Clips. Will give them a try when they arrive.
