XHP Flashtool

I am considering XHP for the ZF8HP transmission in my F31 330d which has already been remapped. Even though the ZF8 units are generally well regarded, they are still quite slushy - especially at low revs/speed and in Comfort mode. The main reason for considering XHP is to get a much more connected drive - much more 'hooked up' through the transmission.

Even though the ZF units are different in the E9X I'd appreciate comments from those that have had an XHP gearbox flash for significant mileages. Has it been reliable ? Any downsides to the gearbox running at higher lines pressures ? Any ill-effects on the various clutches ?

Thanks in advance.

Just flashed mine on Friday. I’m on 158k miles.

Heading to the mountains in 10 days, where it’ll be tested properly

Have you had the gearbox serviced prior to the flash? Mines on 119,000 and I'm considering it.

Well it was high on my list of priorities until this morning when after waiting 6 weeks to get my car into my Local bmw specialist(yeah they're always chocca) it was discovered my HPFP is leaking diesel into the engine. My Indi has been mega not charging me for this mornings work of, full diagnostic plus went through all the injectors and test drives ect…. New bosch hpfp (basically I'm getting it at trade) being fitted tomorrow around 4hrs labour for £882. As gutted as I am about it, I'm very lucky it wasn't a catastrophic failure as the car that's worth around 7 grand would have been a right off.
So gearbox service on hold just now mate.
