A catless, downpipe-back exhaust for $5000?

What am I missing here? Similar exhausts for other cars would cost around the $1000 range. What the hell?

Most likely made of titanium as many of his exhausts are. Not sure.

I am getting my Akrapovic system today for my M3! I saw my buddies a car with it and I must say it is the best system out there. But is very quite for a Ti-exhaust. And its so light you will be shocked, very shocked! the M3 system cost 6200USD so 5 Grand is a good price.

5k for an exhaust is overkill plain and simple, I don't care whats it made out of.

I had a Ti exhaust on my 350Z and did not notice the weight difference. Whatever floats your boat.

If I had a dedicated track car... maybe I'd get it

I agree! Get the exhaust with the most power, and give me the extra money!
