Hi guys nothing crazy but I just wanna say that my IS made it through a whole track day without a single problem today.

First one my brake rotors were warping really bad (should've fixed before, but they went from very slight wobble to 'this is gonna shake my car apart' in a few sessions).

Second one I turned too hard while braking because I carried too much speed into a sharp corner, bent the damn control arm. Replaced with M3 parts that have been much sturdier.

Third one I blew my charge pipe on the 5th lap or so. Big bummer. Luckily my friend in another run group let me borrow his e46 for the rest of the day.

Today I smashed laguna seca all day without a single issue, shaved 7 sec off my previous best time. Feels really great.

Anyone replace their lpfp sensor? I'm wondering if we all got the updated line and sensor design on our cars. This is stupidly confusing, which fuel line and sensor do we have? I'm assuming it's the updated 22751 line with the updated 22231 lpfp sensor also, but this thing does call out as it having the other sensor as well.. My production date was 9/11 too which is gonna be kinda fun if I got something different

Pretty sure you have the old style. I have replaced it with the new style. It's only a slight change in design but it fits.

If I recall, the new sensor fits the old line too. I am 99% sure I only changed the sensor.

You're right, it does fit. Vehicular did the same thing, but like 2 years later it started leaking a tiny, tiny amount. Nothing major, it will work but it is a AN style fitting going into a female oring type connection. The AN is supposed to prevent it from having a small amount of movement/rattle to the actual sensor itself vs. the oring fitting I believe. He ended up purchasing this little adapter that was made in response to that:

https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...UaAozIEALw_wcB

IMO though, if the oring type fitting is a potential issue cuz of a small amount of movement, well you still have that oring fitting in place with that setup. I rather just buy the new updated line/sensor combo that is made for the AN fitting. Is it throwing more $ into it than necessary, ya probably lol. But I'm not planning on selling so worth it for me.

...Unless previous poster is willing to let go of ~$60k

The whole point of the new sensor is to buy the line also, as the original design wasn't as good as the new design.

I've got RB Twos Plus coming in some time next week, going to install next weekend along with inlets & outlets. Will be replacing my leaking OPG as well as my motor mounts and upgrading my transmission mounts to the Rogue Engineering ones.

I decided to stick with the OEM motor mounts as I was a bit concerned with melting issues of the aftermarket 60A and 80A options. 95A doesn't seem to have the same issue but those would have been a little too stiff for a street car.

For a tune, I'll use the OTS BEF for now and then I'll get custom tuned after I upgrade my clutch (& most likely flywheel) and my fuel pump. Should be ready for some good boostin' come March.

Nice, I would have went with RB's if I didn't cheap out on the DAW's.

Will you be doing the work yourself? I did my relocated inlets myself and vowed to never do that again.

The #s being thrown around for those DAWs are serious, but this isn't a job I want to do twice so I went with RB's proven reliability.

That being said, yeah I'll be doing everything myself. I have Veterans Day off from work so I took some PTO on the Monday and the Tuesday before which will give me a 5 day weekend to get the job done.

Rob recommends stock location inlets so I went with those. These turbos are stock housing and not TD04, and thus won't need 2" inlets. I believe 2" inlets need to be relocated since the piping for stock location inlets would constrict to less than 2".

I'll be dropping the subframe for the job so I'm hoping that will make the inlets & outlets portion of the install a lot easier.

Yeah the DAW's are doing a great job, but if I knew I was going to abuse them as much as I do I should have went RB's.

Since you are dropping the subframe it shouldn't be too bad. I would recommend replacing the oil lines while you are in there. I didn't do mine and they ended up leaking after a few months. I bought the full kit from FCP but only replaced the drain lines and not the feed lines but I can sell them to you for a good discount of you want them.
