Honestly, that transaction on BAT probably never went through...odds of the car being sold in Houston through BAT to another buyer in same city are slim. Owner knows a 16k mile 6MT single hump with MPE and sports seats is super rare, so why not shoot for the moon?! I mean it works for EAG...they’d have this car listed for low 40s I’m sure...

Chances are, seller is also probably lurking around on this post as well to observe market reaction....lol.

The pictures and license plate in the Autotrader ad are the same as those used in the BaT auction; I agree that the odds of the BaT winner being in the same city and now listing the car are very remote. The bidder must have flaked and forfeited the 5% fee (unless it was a shill bidding account willing to pay out the 5%).

Edit:autotrader ad says 2nd owner. Maybe the BaT sale never completed? Or the car was never registered..
I'd say was bought by a private dealer just to flip when not fresh in everyone's memory. Either way it's just sitting which is not good for a car.

New E61 listing from our good friend 1600veloce. The real kicker is that he got this from BaT... to flip on BaT. How is anyone gonna pay more than what he paid for it if they know exactly what he paid for it???

The best possible gauge of the market! The Seller did change the differential gear oil and transfer case fluid....and took nice pictures! I've seen some other E61's with less than 100k miles listed for $12.5k, so we'll see where this ends up!

Pictures in the old listing didn't look half bad compared to the ones in the new one he posted. If this sells for considerably more than it did last time being basically the exact same thing I won't even know what to say

It's really that hard to believe that after 2 years and 2K miles that this car has actually appreciated in value?!? Come on. This car is going over $13,753...especially in this color and regardless of the 6AT.

I wouldn't characterize it as him buying it to flip right back on BaT. He's owned it for two years so clearly isn't trying to turn a car right around. When I sold my E39 M5 on BaT the buyer was relocated to SF a year later losing his 3rd garage spot, and I convinced him to put it back on BaT else he won't find the right buyer for the car. So 1 year later it was back on BaT and actually sold for a bit more. I suppose someone out there figured this guy was trying to flip the car or something. Then again, in an appreciating market it really doesn't matter for the most part.

I would guess this E61 will clear $20k this time. Last time it sold for $14,440 (don't forget to calc true cost with the buyer's premium).

The E61 is very boat like to drive. There was no sport suspension option (sport package is just shadowline trim, sport steering wheel, and multi-contour seats), so they aren't enjoyable to drive from a serious enthusiast standpoint without some suspension work (it has lots of roll, sloppy turn-in but pretty comfortable ride). Plus it's saddled with xDrive and the slushbox...at least it was optioned with 2C0, 18" wheels also. With some suspesion work, RWD and 6MT swap, and an LSD, this would be a fun car.

Basically if you are looking at an example of what the E61 platform is capable of, look to ucsbwsr

With the N54 engine...hard to say and it is all based on maintenance and maybe luck. With the N51/N52 engine, which the E91 was equipped with from factory in the US, this is not really surprising to be over 200k miles. As long as you do simple maintenance and take care of the cooling system, belts, fluids, they are strong and reliable. Anyone else want to chime in?

Efthreeoh is around 400k miles on his E90 N52 sedan. This post is from one year ago:

Nice car, just beware that it is missing the retractable cargo cover. On used market that cover is as rare a hens teeth.

Yeah, they all break at the attachment point. I've owned three E91s, two of them came with broken cargo covers but I don't care because they just get taken off and set in the corner of the garage anyways.
