Angel Eye Module Lockout????

So the previous owner of my 335 told me that the module to my angel eyes has somehow locked itself out. I'm not sure what this means, but I do know that my angel eyes do not work. Is this something that I'd have to take to BMW to fix, or if I bought aftermarket angel eyes, would it fix the problem?

Do the lights not work at all? The only thing i've heard of like this is that the angel eyes will stop fading on if you lock/unlock the car too many times.

No. I have no angel eyes at all.
