Weehe126: My mechanic said they have tried to calibrate it but get codes for slow/sluggish operation. The CEL/half engine indication is still turned on.

Did you have the same symptoms after replacing yours? Or was the car back to normal again, even tough you didnšt do the calibration at first?

Found this:

Quote:
If faults 2DCE, 135604 and/or 133B04 are stored due to sluggish movement
in the Valvetronic system, this is due to stacking of critical
tolerances (affects both low and high mileage vehicles). Replace the VVT
actuator motor and the eccentric shaft. Refer to Repair Instruction REP
11 37 020, Removing and installing or replacing positioning motor for
eccentric shaft (N55), and REP 11 37 005, Removing and installing or
replacing the eccentric shaft (N55).
And also this about the ratteling

Quote:
2DCF – Valvetronic system: no movement detected

A currently present fault or reoccurring fault after programming will
allow the Valvetronic system to default to the full lift position. The
full lift position can be verified by allowing the vehicle to go to
sleep. Upon waking the vehicle, a short rattle noise can be heard for
approximately 3 seconds from the cylinder head cover area without
starting the engine.

Replace the eccentric shaft and the VVT (variable valve gear) actuator motor; refer to the following Repair Instructions:
I had about 5 valvetronic related codes, don't have them in hand at the moment to confirm.

Since I have had the ratteling sound (maximun lift height) since i bought the car, what can I expect after the workshop have fixed my car?
Better MPG? I haven't actually noticed anything except for the ratteling sound actually.

Wow sorry I missed this. That is a horrible story. That is exactly why I don't take mine to the dealer, they have no idea what they are doing. If a BMW deal put all those new parts in they have a 2 year warranty or if they were bought from the dealer. I still dont think the shaft is the problem as it is just a shaft that rotates. I'll look more often for updates, hope they cover it.
