Best way to stream music from phone
Have 08 e92 with CCC.
How can i stream music from my phone? Can i use bluetooth aux adapter to stream music? Can my phone connect two bluetooth at same time? One with CCC for phone calls and one with phone to stream music. I would also like to use functions on steeringwheel. |

EDIT* My bad didnt read the CCC part, not aware of any way to stream with CCC, you would have to retrofit CIC and get a combox
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B4XCHEY Had that in my e92, worked perfect, when I sold it the new owner even offered to pay me for it. Just make sure you crack it open and remove the battery so it turns on with the car and pairs automatically. |

I use a bluetooth AUX adapter plugged into the 12v outlet in the arm rest. As for phone connecting to CCC and the audio adapter, that depends on your phone. Most modern smartphones should be able to do that no problem.

Sure, air enabler will be able to provide better sound quality, but for most of the people out there A2DP is a much cheaper and easier solution.
My A2DP adapter cost like $5 and it sounds great to me. And it connects within 10 seconds of turning on the car.

Sorry I remembered wrong, it was $10, not $5.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 In theory, sure. But how much is the improved quality is even noticed in a car system with road, wind, and traffic noise that you have to deal with? Keep in mind not everyone is an audiophile.

I use the Tune2Air bluetooth thing. It connects immediately when unlocking car. and will provide the song/playlist info on the idrive. Im sure if you're seeking quality, an aux cord will be better but I mainly use it for podcast so quality isn't very important for me.

I have no static, hissing, or any of those other issues with my Kinivo BTC455 when streaming bluetooth.. Actually sounds pretty good and I don't have a wire running down the center of my car.. Good luck OP..

I tried the Blackberry Music Gateway and was not very happy. It connected every time, was super easy to use and was tiny so it tucked out of the way in the arm rest. But the volume was terribly low. Even with my phone's volume all of the way up, I had to crank the stereo … especially with windows down.
I just ordered a mpow bluetooth adapter from Amazon so we'll see how that goes when it gets here early next week - reviews were excellent. I looked into the Kinivo unit, but I didn't like that power adapter and aux cable were hardwired into the unit. The Tune2Air looks great, but you have to have the USB plug in your car. And I don't have that option in mine.

I will be selling mine soon and going to a Miracast device. I recently ordered the Xcarlink device for my rearview camera install, so I figured it would be nice to Airplay my phone's Nav to the CCC screen. Much cheaper/easier than a CIC/NBT retrofit and get better mapping on the screen in the process. |

Ordered three different cheap bluetooth adapter to test out. Will test out and keep the best one out of three. Will fork out $80 on tune2air if they all suck.

My mpow streambot unit showed up today. On first impression, I'm pretty happy with it. The thing is tiny … about the size of a quarter. Set up was super easy. Sound quality is really good, but the volume is a bit low. Though, that could be my phone's issue (Samsung GS5 Active). At least when I turn up the radio a few extra clicks, the sound is clear with no alternator whine like with the Blackberry Music Gateway. My only other knock is that the wires are a fairly high gauge (thin) and there is not much you can do about that. At least I can plug it into whatever power adapter I want, unlike the Kinivo unit.
