Few problems with 318D LCI running
Hi
Just posting with a few problems I'm having with my 318D LCI with the N47 engine. 1. A couple of times it has gone into limp mode with an engine light. I've shut off the engine, restarted and its been fine again for a couple of months 2. An occasional misfire or something when the engine is cold at about half throttle - gets quite jerky! 3. Im sure it is losing power and I am averaging 33mpg which seems a little low considering I do mixed motorway/town driving and I have a slightly heavy right foot but don't drive like an idiot. 4. I'm pretty sure there is too much turbo lag - no power below 2000rpm then woomph when the turbo kicks in. Any suggestions on where to start diagnosing it- cleaning/new sensors, and is there a way to delete the MAF on the N47? Thanks! |

Check all your boost hoses haven't popped off or are leaking, otherwise might be a maf sensor gone bad, really need to get it into inpa to scan for fault codes otherwise it's a needle in a haystack!

In reply to the OP I'm not so clued up on the matter myself but have read up on something to do with the turbo actuator sticking on some models of the 2.0 diesel which also causes this sort of issue although you can suffer from no power up to higher RPM's and then it releases, depends on how consistent yours is at hesistating until 2000rpm or whether it will rise higher with no power and then shoot off? |
