Just bought 2011 328i, Wife also just crashed it. Need help

Hi guys, I just bought a low mileage 2011 328i in space gray metallic. Car has 37,000 miles of which more than 15k were in Germany.

I'm in love with car just have some details that I need to iron out. I need to update the navigation(I have already searched and got all that I need to do it free, just missing the pen drive...), already bought the hid kit with the cancellers, led interior kit. Not doing anything to the engine as it is not worth it.

The windshield washer system does not work. I do not hear the pump thus I got to check out first the fuse. (any write ups?)

Now the crash:

I had parked the car on the parking garage right next to a column so my neighbors wont ding my sides. My wife turned the steering wheel completely before backing out so she hit the pillar with the fender and then proceeded to destroy the bumper, headlight, fender, headlight arm.

I need Space Gray Metallic front bumper
fender
headlight
headlight arm
cover that goes on the headlight to cover the light bulb connections
grill

I will try to jb weld the radiator support today for the headlight screw bracket.

Am I missing anything else? Please help any help would be appreciated. We just moved to New Orleans and our other car has not arrived. Need this up and moving ASAP because I took out a rental. Not reporting it to the insurance because insurance here is killer.

Sorry about that OP, I don't have any insight on body type repairs but what a crappy way to start out your ownership of the vehicle.

Your wife owes you big time.

Congrats on the new ride...shame you are starting on a bad note!

Now is a good time to upgrade to an msport bumper if you like the more agressive look.

For new parts, try the guys over at
Tischer BMW. They have a good reputation on this and other BMW forums.

For used parts, you can check out the private classifieds on this forum or even eBay.

I prefer to stick to OEM for either of the above for best fitment and quality.

Here i pay 168$ a month, good credit, good history, 0 violations. If i reported it my broker told me the rate would jump to 260 bucks a month. It takes 3-6 years for insurance claims to leave your record. So 36x 260 vs 1k total repair.

Sorry about your trouble OP.

Got a link to the pictures that isn't a slideshow? Those things are such a pain to use. The pictures I want to look close at disappear before I'm done, and the stuff I don't care about takes 20 secs to switch photos.

Theres a lot of plastic pieces that were damaged. You may consider taking it to a body shop and having them do an estimate so you know exactly what is needed. I'm not sure you can get out of this for less than $1k, you need a new bumper, new fender, new headlight housing and some plastic parts that hold it all together. You might just be surprised at the cost from the body shop to repair everything.

My suggestion: Take it to a shop and ask them what it would cost. I bet it would be more like $2,000 considering the damage.

A new bumper cover is $105 on eBay plus finishing/paint, headlight is $250, fender is $50 plus finishing/paint, and various plastic pieces could be a hundred of two. These prices are the cheapest I could find on eBay, but may not be OEM quality. Could you do it for under $1,000? Possibly, but it may not look 100%.

Good luck, and let us know which way you go. And dont be too hard on the wife, things happen.

Let's just be thankful that it wasn't a 335i she was in. We all know that considering how much faster the 335i is than the 328i, a 335i in this exact scenario would've been totaled and probably would've taken out a pillar or two.

She's taking baby steps.

So far im in it for $300, i have bought the headlight assembly, headlight arm, metal front bumper bracket. HID's. Im missing the fender and bumper. The plan I got is to mount everything I can myself so the body shop just paint and blen the color. Ill let you know the total tally. The bumper I see is a PP aftermarket. This plastic bumpers have much better fittment than a aftermarket fiberglass one. As for wife, well shit happens, wont be the first or last time for some crap like this lol.
