Persistent low beam malfunction
So my left oem bulb went out few months ago, replaced both with Morimoto D1S XB ones. Worked fine then a few weeks ago, the left went out again. Replaced with another morimoto one and it went out again after 2 weeks!
Am I having a bad morimoto bulb batch? Or does it sound like a wire, control module problem? Also noticed a yellow light that would come and go inside the other angel eye ring still on the left side. Last edited by chinko; 09-20-2015 at 11:07 AM.. |

Is there any abnormal behavior (flickering) when you first turn the headlights on?
Also before the bulb stops working have you noticed the color of the bulb having more of a pinkish hint? I'm sure you know this but i'll say it just to be safe, when handling the new bulb do not touch the glass portion with bare hands or even slightly soiled rag. It's important that the bulbs remains free from oils from hands ect. |

Bulbs was never in contact with anything, always handled with the botton part.
I never noticed any flickereing, but as mentionned just some yellowish light that lights up for a few seconds inside the inner angel eye (not sure what lights up there, the bulb is on the other side). |

Final update for those having the same problem.
Ended up being the connector, it did clip when attached but would disconnect eventually. I noticed the power cord was also not fixed to the line "hooks" on the side of the bulb housing, I pushed it in there tight and it's still holding good. |
