CIC retrofit - CCC still present in Rheingold

Is it not possible to remove CCC from configuration completely? It keeps on showing up in Rheingold - with an error because it is no longer fitted.

Need to change VO. Change production date and put 6va.

Done that, been there, bought the T-shirt.

Everything is as per the guides, but it still shows CCC (along with the CIC I might add)

Do you already have $609? Or $606?
What production date do you write on?

Yes, CIC is working perfectly, and I do have in my list in Rheingold. IIRC production date is set to #0809

Maybe still shown on the MOST network?

Have a look through trace files for any modules you have on the MOST for CCC reference?

I'm not sure you can retrofit the CIC in a CCC equipped car with ISTA.

When you use NCS to do this retrofit, you fool the car by changing the build date, but you never write that build date to the car.

I don't think it's possible to do this with ISTA /P.

You MIGHT be able to use ISTA /P Expert Mode to manually select CIC...

What are you trying to do?

If you want to update the i-level of the car, you will need to re-install the CCC unit for ISTA /P to work (at least without Expert Mode). You can update the CIC manually via ICOM and WinKFP.

Btw, I think 9/09 is the date you need.

I'm not using Ista/Rheingold to fir the CIC. The CIC has been fitted and I have done the coding with NCS (builddate, VO etc.)

I just want the CCC reference to go away when diagnosing with Rheingold.

1) Diagnostics takes ages as Rheingold tried to communicate with the CCC - until it gets a timeout.

2) Rheinghold will show errormessages as there is no communication with the CC unit. (as it is no longer fitted to the car)

I'm not trying to do a complete update of the car (iLevel) - I just want the reference to CCC go away

In addition to my suggestion already posted re MOST network...

Can you post a screen shot from your UIF in INPA. I want to see how INPA displays your modules...

As Dtype suggested, did you try changing date to 0909? I never used 0809 before.

Also full CCC is not shown, only;

CCC-ASK (CC3F60) - Aerial Tuner
CCC-ANT (CC4760) - Audio system controller

As these are still shown on the MOST ring I'd try recoding all modules on MOST to default (your new VO)

That must be TCU and MULF - right? Will I be able to code them using the DCan?

Bumping this since I'm having the same issue, except on an E60. Retrofitted the CIC, mostly everything works (having trouble w/ BMWLive and Internet, though that's not high on the priority list). Hooked up to Rheingold just to see if it still works, and I'm getting modules that shouldn't be there. I suppose it's not purely based on the VO because Rheingold picked up on my car having a combox despite E60s never getting it.

Not sure what else to change

Try update the MOST configuration in ISTA. Search for E1CF error on here for one of my posts showing the steps.

Just tried, unfortunately it doesn't seem to have fixed it.

Hmm, if that's the case I guess there isn't much I can do (asides for maybe changing the VIN in the CAS/LMA... though I'd rather not bother with that).

I wonder if the I-level has anything to do with it, though it looks like mine should be recent enough.

Edit: Reading a couple Russian sites, it seems like updating the I-level did the trick.

I-level did the trick. I just changed the "factory" entry to match the current I-level (which was flashed to the car sometime in 2010 IIRC), and it works properly now. I guess the factory I-level was telling ista that the car came with a CCC. I also did try changing 03/2010 to 09/2009 as you can see, but that didn't seem to impact anything. And generally pleasantly surprised that the combox doesn't seem to be breaking anything major.

Oh as far as all of my module errors, apparently I have a K-CAN fault somewhere. Not bad enough to mess up communications or cause *all* modules to throw faults, but still. Not related to any of my wiring changes as best as I can tell. That's an issue for another day

They didn't really explain the logic.

This is what I think:
My factory I-level is from 2007 (when the car was built), and Ista seemed to be using that in part to determine what the most ring should look like. I used tool32 to change the factory entry to the current entry, so now ista thinks the car was built later.

I'm not sure why it doesn't just use the VO to figure it out.
