Bimmerpost christmas charity campaign ideas!
Our Halloween costume thread paid for two goats for some family in a third world country thanks to our clear winner bimmette donating the promised gift card for one too. Let's do this again, for a good cause people!
Ideas have been flying around, we could collect money for a shelter somewhere in the USA (I have a few all around this country that truly deserve any cent they can get, and the people running them are personal friends of mine and they'd be more than willing to show us what this will provide for them) or we could sponsor some organization that has a high percentage for delivering the given money to those in need anywhere. So far people have suggested a secret Santa (what ever that is, sounds like shopping required) handled via bimmette. Prostituting Axius and Mr Tonka , the owner of the sexiest pair of legs in Bimmerpost (this might have mild legal issues but we already have bids) Christmas card contest, no idea how we could make anyone pay for anyone's art work since old Billie was banished. So, ideas or interest?

I think we should focus 1 on contet and 1 on newcomer who start to be active on OT. This will generate more fun people into OT.

I don't think raising the fund for prize won't be the problem. Even if people paypal transfer $1 each per active OT member, it would be over $50.
I would like to get the participation rate higher, and new OT members getting active. I think leg humpers should donate more when there are more new OT Female members who becomes active here.

just typed this in the other thread.....

One of the reasons i gravitated towards the Secret Santa is because of participation. Take the Halloween contest for instance. 10 submissions. 88 votes, but 2 submissions got 75% of the votes and one of those was a joke. Jake from State Farm was a fantastic idea, not a single vote. In my opinion, there isn't a lot of incentive to participate in a contest where the winner is decided by BP user votes. With Secret Santa, everyone who participates gets some action. Sure there will be some inequities, but as you stated, the point of participation is to help those in need. As Biorin pointed out, hopping on Amazon and picking up a gift, having it shipped directly is a pretty easy and simple endeavor. Quote:
You PM them your name, address, shirt size, and a description of the things your interested in. Once, say... Dec 10th rolls around the person facilitating draws from a bowl to decide who gets who. They PM the person their gift recipient's original PM with Name, address, etc... and it's self automated from that point on. Once the gifts start arriving members post pictures of what they received and hilarity/love fest ensues. (depending on how funny or thoughtful the gifts were) I'm down for whatever and will do my best to participate in whatever is decided upon. However i do think we'd get a better participation rate if everyone participating gets something in return other than the satisfaction of helping people in need. I for one am ok with Lups choosing the charity, even multiple charities and percentage in which they get divided between. With regards to participation i could see getting maybe 20 participants. At $10 that's $200, I'll match what ever the "entry fees" are. That's $400, if someone else with match the entry fees, that's $600 and Biorin will match at least double what we put in. That's another $400 brining the total donated to $1,000....... Lups , how far will that go with your "go to" charities? Not bad for a bunch of douchebags driving BMWs and a stray Range Rover. lol

If we come up with a theme people are willing to work with, the thread that will come from this will be epic fun for a good cause! And $20 for an other good shot of those hairy legs of yours seen again!

Bad Holiday Sweater picture is another idea, but not many people have them or want to spend the time making / finding one. Lots of people like Halloween and we only got 10 submissions. If people would pay $100 to enter, great. Otherwise, we're not looking at generating a decent amount of scratch.
Secret Santa is where everyone gives a gift to someone else anonymously. You also receive a gift, but you don't know who from. Low spending limit, Amazon makes it easy. Cons are that you have to be ok with giving your address to the person facilitating and the person sending you a gift.

i'm in... charitable functions while noble will take A LOT more than $10, even with the x2 generosity and x4 generosity of biorin...
secret santa - makes sense, most of you all seem pretty tight with one another, although I imagine there will be some prank gift in there like oh say an exploding vibrator or whatnot... this time of year, personally I would rather if we do charity it go to some kids / toys, etc... while being homeless sucks, some of these kids in group homes / orphanages have it far worse - will be homeless if not adopted by a certain age and not having christmas gifts to open kind of blows... or if you end up getting an HB pencil or two and an eraser... or we could all chip in for a mail order bride / groom for Belgium... either or... |

We need a great contest, even if the winner only gets to pick where we put the money, and we can easily use the threads we have for photo collection contests, and again prostitution is an option. The world is ours!

Plus, look at the feels we all have from sending 2 goats to families. With a decent SS turn out we could have the means to send 20 goats out. Or we can divide the total take between a few worthwhile causes.

when you all keep mentioning goats, I keep envisioning these poor goats being violated by terrorists in some mountainous region as part of their recruiting tactics... =/

I'm in, I don't know about the whole prostitution part, but I'm willing to throw in some $ for charity. My wife and I donate to st. Jude regularly so I would love to help out. The fishnet stockings are a bit much, but I can pull out an ugly sweater for a good cause. Let me know what you want from me, ( just make it G-rated ), and I'll oblige.

Yeah, yeah, I can be the keeper of addresses and monies. Although maybe we create a gofundme account so that it's more transparent?
