Broken rear shock mount?

I hit a huge pot hole yesterday and there was a terrible sound from the rear driver side suspension. After that, I could hear the suspension rattling around and very bouncy. When I got out I pushed on the rear driver side and it was very springy, as if the shock wasn't working at all

I looked at the top of the shock from the front and saw this:

Is this the actual body that broke and created that rust ring or is that part of the lower shock mount (from under the body?)

Any input on what actually happened here is greatly appreciated!

correct, new mount with washer should fix it. I recommend the Monroe mount kit.
