E90 M3 Bumper in LA?
Awhile ago there was a discussion about a couple shops in LA area that sell M3 front bumper replicas. There was one shop in particular that cost <$400 painted and they used genuine BMW paint. Anyone know what shop this was? Or could suggest a different shop?
Next time I'm in LA I'd like to pick one up and bring it home with me to install myself. My front bumper is getting beat up and could use a replacement. I think this might be what I'm talking about: http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv...550780985.html

One thing is for sure, you will get what you pay for. Tried few of them before and not as good as OEM quality paint.

There were many reviews but I recall them being mostly positive.

When quality Dupont or PPG (aka OEM Quality Paint) goes for $300 normal market value for prep and paint then it should always be a red flag when you can get a bumper for $400 including paint. Either way just friendly criticism, but best of luck either way and hope you get it figured out

The place you're looking for is ABS Autobody in El Monte. Talk to Kevin, tell them Ryan with the black 3 wagon sent you.

Sorry to tell you those deals are gone for now at ABS. I thought about a MTech change but Kevin told me the deals are gone for now. That ad isn't from ABS but some dude in North Hollywood. I'd say the paint quality from what members said isn't anywhere close to genuine BMW paint but decent. The deal at ABS use to be $500 for the M3 front bumper painted, and installed. And $600 for the MTech painted and installed. You get it installed plus they use better paint. I'm sure many others will say the same for ABS that's far superior plus customer service is ridiculously good.

ABS is top notch. They use quality Dupont paint/clear as well as cater to quite a few enthusiasts. I can vouch for them and have gotten multiple pieces painted from them in the past (Rear bumper, sideskirts, side mirrors, etc). Ask for Kevin

Just talked to Kevin at ABS. Seems like a nice guy. The price was not as good as the link in my first post, but still cheaper than getting it done locally. And they have LOTS of good reviews on yelp from E90/E92 owners.
They also include install but I'm just going to pick it up and install myself so I can attempt to work out the ducting (would like to keep the oil cooler and "brake ducts" as functional as possible.

Unfortunately I don't live in LA, I'm only driving through, so I can't drop off the car or wait for the install. And he said they usually just cut the ducts short and point the passenger one at the oil cooler and leave the brake ducts unconnected since they are useless anyways.

They let you be right there while Alan (usually) installs it. Redoing my 1M bumper with real 1M ducts took maybe 2 hours, and thats removing my stock bumper and doing up the new one. Alan made custom brackets for me to do the ducts, too.
