440i M Sport
Has anyone driven the new 440i - in particular the auto?
The pre-reg M Sport Auto Coupes have a good spec and seem great value at around £36k when the new price is around £47k. Hmm, this is tempting me from my current E92 330D. |

I have a 435i , i can't tell you about the engine but the guys over the f30 forum is raving about it alot. They say that engine sounds betters and better fuel economy.
I find the 4 series very big from the e92, suspension is soft and nice even with runflats. A little bit more body roll compare to e92. All i can say it's very nice inside and out but i miss my e92 335i after while.

Thanks - I just popped over there and had a look and yes, they do love it don't they? It looks like the real world mpg is around 32 which isn't much different from the 35 I'm getting at the moment from my 330D. I only do around 8k a year so the mpg isn't a concern.
Interesting that you find your 435i bigger than the E92 as it's only about 1in longer and 2in wider - maybe the inside is larger, more spacious, which makes the whole car feel bigger. I think I need a look at one and maybe a test drive. 😈 |

I've driven the 340i with Auto 'box. At the time, I had a 335i with a manual 'box.
Suffice to say that the 8-spd Auto is a peach. I'm not one for an Auto 'box, but it really is a multi-trick pony. I found the way it adapted to my driving was very well done and it was never in the wrong gear. The B58 lump helps and feels significantly stronger than the N54 i had in my 335i. Overall, you need to drive one, but I'd have on without too much arm twisting. It does everything very well and when you want to play, it does that too. There are a few pre-reg cars about and they're invariably £2-3k less than a 335d. I know which one I'd be choosing. |

I do like the look of the 440i, it does seem kinda big though. I suspect it's around the same size as my old e34 m5. Am not sure if I would replace my 335i with a 4 series on account of its size. I have been thinking maybe a 235i would be a good replacement
