E90 forum Tasmania Cruise 28 Oct to 2 Nov

E90 Forum Tasmania Cruise - 28 Oct to 2 Nov

About time we kicked things up and started organising this event
So without cutting Terminators grass Just putting out an EOI for our biggest cruise yet !!!!

Numbers will need to be capped at a max of 10 cars to make the event manageable

Fri 28 Oct
Depart Melbourne 7:30 pm on the Spirit of Tasmania

Sat 29 Oct
Arrive Devonport 6:00 am

Tue 1 Nov
Depart Devonport 7:30 pm on the Spirit of Tasmania

Wed 2 Nov
Arrive Melbourne 6:00 am

Details of the course and accommodation in Tasmania are still being worked on, but will be posted shortly

Meanwhile the big question is what will be the cost?
Well it is will be cheaper then aftermarket turbos

My best guess is the five days for the boat ride, 5 nights accommodation, food, drinks and fuel will be around $1500 - $2000

A return trip on the Spirit of Tasmania, for 1 adult, 1 car and a private (standard) cabin $790

Then assume $250 a day in Tassie and you can see its in the $1500 ball park...

We will certainly do our best to get package deals where we can but the numbers above will provide you a guide...

As always add your name to the list peeps

Depending on how much driving and how spirited the driving is, petrol alone could end up being around $100 a day on some days if driving long distances with a good thrashing here and there.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner is gonna come in averaging about $75 total per day. Add $25 for grog and that's another $100 or so, leaving $50 for accommodation per night per person which is achievable but you'd better book soon for 10 cars worth of people. I'd say $2,000 is conservative. $1,500 is possible if you drive a diesel, eat fast food, bring enough goon for five days and sleep in your car lol

Put me down as a tentative.

I'm having A/L from 17th Oct 31st to paint my house and to have a little family holiday.

I may be able to extend my holiday for another week...

What's the tassy itinerary? (where is the group going each day?)

Have you plotted out all the E85 stockists socks, or shall we perhaps have a tanker follow the group around for the trip haha

I would love to be a part of this cruise but I'm afraid it's just a little too soon after the wedding and all the handling mods I'm doing!

For the ferry you don't have to take a cabin, I won't bother with one, you can go with the recliners which will save about $400.

For the itinerary there will be a selection of Targa Tasmania routes, we actually have the BMWCCV's old itineraries for their Tasmania drives which were coincidentally were also held on Melbourne Cup weekend in 2014

Definitely extend it!

No way anyones going to run e85 with the amount of kms we are doing.

I would highly suggest people bring along an extra fuel container, spirited driving on twisty roads + long distances between fuel stops will probably mean you'll run out sooner than you think.

I've got one of these, also handy for track days since fuel consumption is crazy:

Spare tyre would be a good idea too.

I'll chat to my boss at work and at home!

TBH on a 98 map my car is really good on fuel, so on spirited mountain day runs I normally get 600+ km's from a tank, but definitely agree with the spare tyre and wheel (Which I have along with a jack wheel nut wrench etc)

I'm definitely keen, but with a baby its going to be hard to get approval for 7 nights or so away from home for a self indulgent trip (with work it would be a tad easier!)

Shane, just go. You need to learn: Asking for forgiveness is easier than permission. "I was gonna ask God for a bike but I know he doesn't work that way, so I stole one instead and asked for forgiveness"
