Sadly I did not catch it on a dash cam but I saw a woman pull out from a T junction onto a dual carrageway without looking and as if it was a filter lane. She pulled right out to the outer lane and proceeded to drive at 40 mph. She did bot notice all the cars behind her taking evasive action. Very lucky there was nit a serious crash.

Meh.
I like a good juicy dashcam video from time to time, but there's nothing exciting there. That's what I dislike about so many dash cam recorders, they make a lot out of nothing incidents. Threads get overrun with little incidents and people lose interest before a good one comes along. Then there's the posters that you can see as many errors in their driving than the people they are shaming. |

Many of the British dashcam videos on Youtube show the owners of the dashcams are just as responsible as many of the 'perpetrators' when it comes to poor driving standards.
I've seen many where the dashcammer could or should have reacted differently to the unfolding situation and then there would not have been a resulting incident. Many seem think that because they have a camera it makes them holier than thou. That's particularly evident when there is audio from the dashcammer him/her self. Now, some of the Russian ones are worth watching........... |

A lot of people are driving thinking about getting YouTube hits. They position and drive in a manner to make incidents happen, then assume the camera will prove they've done nothing wrong.
There's a whole host of dashcam drivers that keep finding themselves in the middle of everything and still can't see they are part of the problem. Dashcams do appear to make logical sense to protect youself, but personally I think they end up causing more incidents than they are worth. In 20 years of driving long miles, I can't actually think of one scenario that I would have actually needed one for my own protection. I don't understand why so many people are so paranoid.........unless they've watched those Russian videos right enough. |

I can understand some of the points being made but I am in no way responsible for the incidents above.
I think it's quite grotesque that they're not "satisfying" enough for some people's viewing pleasure. It's just a dashcam, not a Hollywood chase camera or police action camera. I'm not paranoid but when my insurance premium is already sky high and there's so many dodgy drivers/cyclists on the road, I want to do what I can to avoid taking the blame if I ever get into an incident. I hope you enjoy another 20 years of driving without incident but I'm not hedging my bets on it for me. And if you think I'm making it up, Google West Yorkshire Police's Dangerous Drivers campaign - still going on and started by local residents via campaigning through the media and dashcam footage. It's as bizarre a comment to say dashcam drivers are part of the problem as it is to say shops who have CCTV are more prone to being shoplifted - no, you just have evidence unlike those who don't can't share it. If you're a shite driver you're a shite driver regardless of whether there's a camera or not in your car so don't see what that has to do with it. I've never positioned myself in a manner to get a YouTube hit and never will. I'm not a moron or a fraud. Nor did I ask for any of the above to willingly happen. Looks like an average days driving to me, if those were the only incidents that I came across I'd consider it a good days driving, never the less I do hope Miss Daisy wasn't too traumatised

Ha ha, mob17 I like that idea, how's about a huds display with a gunsight & a red 'fire' button on the steering wheel so's you could send burst of cgi gunfire or a rocket or two into the offending vehicle

That Volvo one... glad you have good brakes! at the cyclist
Had another cyclist run a red light this morning, he was hidden behind a mercedes and I almost took him out head on as I was turning right. Morons
