TBI Question
Hey guys,
My new hpfp is just a little bit to weak for the tune I am running so TBI seems like the perfect solution. I was wondering if any of you guys running TBI could share some info, like pros and cons you are experiecing etc. Thanks! |

How much boost are you currently running and what's is your ultimate goal?
You should be able to safely run 22 psi on e40 with pure turbos with stage 2 LPFP without TBI OR PI.. |

I am running about 23psi tapering to 20 with a new hpfp and it is strugling. I am running a flash tune only and I like how it is, just want to keep my hpfp healthy, and have the option to increase ethanol content to about E40 in summer.

I'm in a very similar situation. Not sure how close I am to HPFP limits but current setup is a custom flash at 20.5psi for 93oct only and you can see mods in my sig. I even bought TBI, but have not installed because I think doing an e30 or e40 blend will be more reliable and easier to get tuned to my power goal of 500whp. As far as I have read, TBI really was intended for full e85 setups where octane was not the concern, just volume. I'd rather not add another system and additional failure possibilities to the car if I don't have to.

If you want to "be sure" how close you are to the HPFP limits, try logging. |

Agree I need to log on this current setup. What part are you saying goes out the window? Assuming adding 2 psi to my current set up would put me in OPs position, I would want to use some e85 to gain some power instead of try to feed more 93oct with TBI (which I don't think would work anyway). I understand e85 means needing more fuel, but e30 wouldn't warrant that much more volume, would it? Is there something I'm missing?

QUOTE=NA55;21251620]Fuel system looks healthy.. no need for TBI unless you plan on more ethanol or more aggressive tuning..
Log looks safe... who tuned it?[/QUOTE] Don't you think hpfp will suffer if it keeps dipping to 1000 and below? I think i'll just use boost per gear since it can't handle the power in 1st and 2nd anyway, and cap 3rd at 21 psi. Wedge tuned it, I realy like it. Still looking for opinions on TBI |
