325i E90 vs acura rsx type-s
Who would win in this battle? My buddy thinks that his rsx-s will be able to hang with my 325i (sp) once I get it. Can someone please tell him the truth?

If it's a drag race, no chance for the RSX if it's stock and yours is a manual assuming drivers of equal skill. Wait till it's broken in before you try it.
If you're on a tight road, he'll have an advantage because he is lighter. |

325i in 6.1? I don't think so...that sounds like the 330i time. The RSX is faster than a 325i but its power band is smaller, meaning you have to drive it like you stole it to get the power.

It's not an equal comparison.
RSX Type S: 2 door, very light car, with the v-tech motor that revs forever BMW 325- 4 doors, rather heavy car, Great overall power band but it does not rev as high. The RSX Type S is a very capable car, and it will defiantly hold it's own against a 325 even in the turns. |

The Type-S is not THAT quick a car. In fact, it came in dead last in acceleration against a Cobalt SS, a Neon SRT, Ion Redline, and a WRX. Granted the competition is all forced-induction motors, half of them had less horsepower (Ion and Cobalt). 0-60 in 6.4, which was almost half a second slower than the Cobalt.

I am just saying the RSX would hold it's own, but who cares it's not a fair comparison no matter who wins. |

I bought a 6 speed RSX/S for my daughter and I test drove a 6 speed 325i with sport package. RSX is much more lighter and if drivern hard, it accerlates very quickly and handle pretty well. Based on my experience that a 325i SP will handle slightly better than a RSX, but the RSX is faster than the 325i due to weight advandage. If you consider price, RSX is a much better buy, but BMW wears a better brand (prestige).

I personally think the RSX is a great car, but not fair to compare with a 325. |

VERY TRUE. If I wanted to have a drag car all day, I'd get a friggin Mustang Gt, used Cobra, ect. If I wanted to race all day and Take corners super quick, I'd get a lancer EVO, WRX Sti, ect. What people have a hard time understanding is that the Bmw # series is far away from being a race car. It is a sports sedan. It has sufficient enough power to satisfy a daily driver, Suspension that holds the rails, and driver feel like no other. Its the car you would get to drive to and from work, without falling asleep at the wheel. If you want a BMW refinement along with racecar abilities, get an M3, M5, M6, ect. But the price is gonna be a lot more. Thats where the cheapo alternatives come in (Sti, Evo, Cobras). |

I like to drive fast at times and at others i dont. Thats the problem with these racers such as the EVO, STi, and to a lesser extend the RSX, You can't drive them normally with comfort. Try taking a date out in a EVO or STi! The turbo pushes so much Psi, that the surge of power is inevitable.
