Soot free!

When I bought my 320D about a year ago it smoked like a chimney every time I stepped on it. Since then I cleaned the intake manifold and fixed the flaps, did an EGR delete and just had a remap. I was just coming back from a little drive round the country side and it's already dark so I floored it in the 2nd and 3rd gears on a well lit street. There was no a sign of any smoke in my rear view mirror. And my car doesn't have a DPF. Pleasantly surprised and very pleased with that. Didn't think that was possible. And I always felt a bit embarrassed leaving black clouds behind every time I accelerate.

i'm guessing that as part of your remap they did the EGR delete from the coding? where you getting error codes beforehand?
Id like to do an EGR delete on mine but its already mapped so id have to have it re-remapped :-/

That's right, I was only after the EGR delete but they said it's £250 for the remap so I might as well get the performance done too. And I am not regretting it. And yes, EGR delete make diesel burn hotter so there is less soot as it all burns up.
