Random engine dies
06 E90 325, original owner, about 140K on the odo. Primarily the wife's car, I drive it if we go somewhere together.
Wife told me last night that Monday night, while she was in parking lot, the engine sputtered then died. No unusual warning lights on dash. I didn't get a chance to hook up ODB scanner yet. Her thought is that a control board is going ( please don't go there!) Aren't major fault codes stored for a period of time? Last edited by UncleWede; 03-01-2018 at 12:27 PM.. |

Hooked up the scanner and only get the continuous P00015 Exhaust is over-retarded. Nothing more in history.
I offered to show the wife how to plug in/run the scanner. She is already mad at me. "What, am I going to do that when it dies on me on the freeway and I get hit?" I just walked away and made myself some dinner |

She often tells me I can go drive her car, on the random. In most cases it's because the gas warning light is on. . . It's almost a running joke now. "No, I don't want to go drive your car. I also don't want to go fill it up with gas"
Then I go fill it up with gas |
