BMW Carly Coding - video in motion / dpf / diagnostics

I've recently purchased the official Carly adapter for BMW and the Iphone app.

Quite expensive!

As It is quite a bit of money on this (and it works on loads of BMWs).

I was thinking it might be fair to offer it out to other people for a small fee to help recoup some of the cost; and save others having to spend the full amount for this setup.

Would anyone be interested (South Yorkshire area)?

£15.00

You can check the benefits inc. video in motion, dpf readings, service reset, diagnostics, etc from using Carly on your BMW here...

Personally can't see anyone paying, I certainly wouldn't.

Not in the same area but personally happy to do for a coffee.

People will pay when they need it badly.
I paid a forum member £10 towards drinks few years back.
They never asked for any £ so I had to insist.

Many will pay £10..specially if they need to register a new battery.

I eventually bought my own as I need to monitor the Nox level on my car. Yes it's near £100 for both app and Gen2 adapter so for 1 time use is a lot of ££

Yeah I have the old one as well with free updates. It's kinda shit they have changed the pricing to a yearly sub. I've helped people out for free in the central Scotland area. Coding out the voltage check light for leds etc... and threw in a digi Speedo just for the sake of it. I dare say if I hadn't had it I'd be happy to pay 10-15 quid for an hour of someone's time to code a few things.

£15 is a fair price and well worth it when adding little things like the digi speedo etc

I have Carly, and I'd be happy to help anybody locally for free (or perhaps for a small donation to charity).

The problem with charging somebody is that you may then take on liability if you brick their car. Yes, it's a remote possibility, but it would take quite a few "jobs" at £10 or £15 to pay for replacing an FRM.

Interesting! Whereabouts in Edinburgh are you? I wouldn't mind some help once I finally get around to wiring in my powerfold mirrors.

Currently being dicked about by Carly regarding a replacement unit (ongoing since February and I hadn't even bought the app by this stage so I've missed out.

EDIT: Forgot to say please! :P

I have the full version of Carly (in Sheffield). I have full access to everything in the app as I bought it ages ago. I only have a universal OBDII adaptor at the moment but it allows fault code reading and clearing along with most of the coding options for my E90 and the wifes Mini R56. It just won't do things like airbag reset etc. I'd be happy to do some coding for free if anyone needs it.

This was my concern. I've offered out my Carly before, but then stopped doing it, as i wouldn't want to be held liable if I bricked something.
If i was paying for someone to do something like that for me, i'd be expecting them to fix it too, if it went wrong.

I'm in South Wales with the full version but only a generic obd2 cable if anyone wants anything done free of charge. The cable works fine in my pre lci e92 but did give a warning of at your own risk in a friends lci e91
