Do i have to drop my car off for an evening to get a speaker checked out? christ i went through about 9 right front e46 (Harmon Kardon) speakers.

any ideas? I opened the door to isolate the bass noise to the right door (e90 sedan) and it sounds nasty. almost like a quarter bouncing on the rear deck of a car with a big sub almost.

and no i don't put anything in the door, cigarette ashtray, or even in the glove compartment (other than paper).

!@#% not even on 2nd payment yet.

any DIY or tips to save a trip to dealer? help me out here. i really don't want to deal with flash upgrades (29.2/30) and a loaner

Well, the HK mids in the E46 were notoriously crap, but 9 of them? damn...

The door speakers in an E9x don't PLAY bass. If your door mid is blown, I have a question: Where is your BASS setting on your EQ? (You don't have a base setting)...

reset to factory, no dsp on. had it up a little with the settings recommended but dang to last 1 one month. i'll double check it again tomorrow? Is there any other place that create this kind of reverb'ing rattle? it really sounded like a quarter on the rear deck with a sub or like a fricken license plate rattling but in the right door area. ghetto.

bass and volume were kept reasonable. no more than the E46 harmon kardon. 9 speakers alot? maybe but i also had the weather stripping (coupe) come down 3 or 4 times on the e46 too before they found some super-glue or something.

got any ideas? i even reset to factory and on typical rap/rnb/euro-pop its sickingly bad in the passenger seat and bad in the drivers seat. like someone dropped a screw on a speaker and its bouncing back and forth.

i feel dumb it was a piece of paper under the seat apparently there is a port tune hole and it was flapping like mad.

I have the same problem now. Same speaker!!! The one on the passenger's door.

There is a issue with the Right Front speaker .. The issue was bass was distorted when set at 6 bar on the bass. The caused of it was the ampilifer need to adjust or replace. There was a car today at my work place at center bmw have similiar issue.

Wait so it only happens when you set the bass at 6? That's what I set it at (6). o.O So I have to bring it to the dealer to fix it?
