Twisted Tuned stage 3 n55 kit
What is the max amount of power you can run safely on an n55? Not trying to blast the internals clean out of the block but I wanna be able to run hard.
If anyone has any experience with this let me know |

500-550 seems to be the safe reliable, 600s for n55 seems to be iffy

What bolt ons do you have Chris? And as the mechanic in the desert town says when your car is DOA, "How much you got?"

You will need meth or E85 to get to 500 whp++. On pump, probably 430 whp?

Pure stage 2 you can push 500-550ish with e85/meth. My buddy has the bigboostusa 3.4 turbo kit doing 600-650+whp on his 135i stock motor, but the DCT is built. VVT is supposedly coming out with a single turbo kit that should be ~600+ hp. No one has really found the limitations of the N55 as the current turbo options available aren't hitting 700+whp like n54.

Arguably & despite the added weight of my all wheel drive...the addition of a port injected methanol kit, a tankful of race gas, and a Wedge Custom tune should enable me to make close to 500 whp. However, without forged internals, I don't think my car would be a dd for very long. |

id say personally touching 500 would be an achievement without running into fueling problems etc.. Right now in FL me and my guy are working on a few custom maps for three n55s. We're still in the dyno stages but are almost complete.

How are you and "your guy" tuning cars when just the other week you were asking for a free custom tune? LOL I am curious as to what you could come up with that others have not. If you are really trying to measure any real gains you should have a baseline dyno of your car stock on the same dyno that you are tuning on. |

If you want to run hard and make serious power then shit is going to break. If you want reliability then don't look to make serious power. Twisted is/was tuning an N55 that was around 750WHP on a built engine.

" First of all Captain Troll (and I do use that heavily) I was not searching for a free tune as im sure your still confused by that thread I created not last week but actually on the 14th of September so that leaves about 25 days for events in my life to change ( i.e: Finding a tuner, Running on the same dyno multiple times, plus "custom maps". So do me and yourself a favor and stay in your lanes and let us FL bmw guys help each other out. You reach out or see others reach out for help but do you try or give them what they need? No you troll posts and play it cool for +1s REP

Forgive my "after-bitching" in your post!🤭 I've benefited much more from this forum than my relative N55 knowledge/experience allows me to pay back.
As I read through your initial post, I sensed an opportunity to pay back/forward the e90post community based on my almost FBO experience(s). During my "Nightmare on JackStands," orteeze reached out via pm with experiential guidance and encouragement. Sorry OP, it was never my intent to derail your thread. Mike |

Is the stock turbo able to handle this, or is it time to go bigger at that point? |

You may not need forged internal if the tuner knows what he is doing. Ie. not requesting full torque at 2k rpm. If torque and boost ramp up is nice and gentle, the stock motor should be fine. The stock turbo runs out of its efficiency range beyond 15PSI especially at the higher rpms. If you wish to run higher PSI or to have the car pulls till red line, go for a bigger turbo.
